Rate my Blaster! Sandsoul (Water/Energy/Fire)

Hi all, hope that you are having a wonderful day when you read this.

 

I wanted to share my Blaster build that I used in live, I think this was one of my last fun builds that I had before the game shut down.

 

In my mind Blasters are like the squishy wizard archetype most commonly found in other games, and as such, I wanted to build a character with many of those traits (although I managed to squeeze in a few defensive options).

 

The goals and mindset for this build are:

 

  • Range is Everything! If I defeat you from across the room before you can harm me, then It's like having infinite life!
  • Recharge - More recharge means I get access to my nukes and power-ups faster!
  • Ranged Defense - Because sometimes you are in an office and attacking from two-rooms length is not an option (I can hover to the top of the ceiling, but the camera goes all haywire)
  • Permanent Energize - ensures this build has no endurance issues.
  • Build has some defensive options if needed - Soft-capped Ranged Defense - Afterburner (***soon to be called evasive maneuvers***) grants additional melee and AoE defense should you be caught off-guard, while you can only affect yourself during this time, it's not bad as you can buy some time for your other attacks and power-ups are available, so I often power-up, deactivate the self-only power, and go to town!)

 

Some cons that I have for this build are while I do enjoy the powers offered by energy secondary, they don't last long enough, I have them all permanent, or near permanent (boost power is offline by 1 second), power boosts lasts 15 seconds, and boost range lasts 30 seconds, meaning you have to click those powers on a regular basis (I use numpad on my tray 2 to cast those powers regularly, but it can be off-putting and must admit this). *Wishing the developers made Boost Range a passive skill*

 

At least with Agility Alpha, having to cast is not mandatory since the build has 44.50 ranged defense without it, still power boost enhances all the secondary powers, which water can take advantage of!

Also worth mentioning I'm going back and forth between Aqua Bolt and Hydro Blast alot, they both have their own pros and cons. But I can't take advantage of the procs that could be equipped into Aqua Bolt to make it good.
