Street Justice, Assassin's Strike and The Wrong Damage Type

Alright.

For those of you who don't know me - I'm Flea. I've played Stalkers since the sun first rose for them and I know the AT inside and out. They are, with scrappers, my babies. So naturally I pay close attention to what exactly is happening. And recently, in the past few days I have noticed some...oddities.

I noticed Placate seeming to function as a Chance to enter Hidden status rather than being 100% - this crops up more often than not vs. AVs (and I noticed it in Manticore and Yin TFs where, of course, the final missions are AV heavy) - due to the stalker combo basically being BU, AS, attack, placate, AS....and was noticing that the AS onto the AV wasn't necessarily critting for 3x damage. Now this could simply be latency. It could be an attack that didn't render going through after the placate went off but before the effect took place, putting me into a false stealth - but naturally it bugged me.

My current baby is a Street Justice/SR stalker. And I decided to scroll through logs.

And, well...I found some rather odd behaviour indeed.

Street Justice is 100% Smashing Damage. 100%. And this...this is not that. So I spent a bit hopping around to see if I could replicate. Spamming ASes on things, frustrated that we don't have a way to make a passive AV scale target or training dummy to beat about for the sake of logging things and general parsing purposes. Then I went to sleep. And then I decided to be idle this morning and run through a mission.

WAT.

So after a fair bit of mucking about, it clicked. And I can now replicate this 100% on the server. It happens as such.

Whenever you crit with AS outside of Hide (so not the Assassination crit but the double damage crit from Assassin's Focus) - the crit portion is showing as Energy damage. Every single time. So, uh, yeah.

About that...
