Lost Connection to DB

I'm unable to load in with any of my characters. It's been a year since I've logged in but when I click on a character to load in with it freezes for a minute or so and then presents me with the error message "Lost connection to DB"

I'll get the really basic question out of the way.  Have you tried resetting your modem and/or router, and rebooting your computer?

 

Are you getting the freeze and lost connection with one character, or with all of them?  When you load in, do you hear anything before losing connection?  Are you playing on Excelsior/Everlasting/Torchbearer/Indomitable, or Reunion?  If you're just playing on Reunion, have you tried Excelsior/Everlasting/Torchbearer/Indomitable, or vice versa?  What ISP are you using?  Are you using a VPN?  If so, which VPN?

 

If resetting your modem and/or router and rebooting your computer doesn't help, try opening Command Prompt and type:

 

ping 144.217.39.218 -t

 

Let that run for a bit, and paste the results here.

 

Then type: 

 

tracert 144.217.39.218

 

And paste the results here as well.

I can ping that IP just fine and as of this morning I can load in as normal. Looks like I'm good to go! Thanks for your suggestions.
