Forum setting - auto-follow?

Hi, is there a setting that lets me automatically follow any topic I post in?  I often forget to flip that little switch at the bottom of the page.  Any help finding the setting would be appreciated, I'm kind of overwhelmed with all the forum controls right now.

It should do that by default.  Digging in options, you can pick email, notification, both or neither:

 

You can find that by clicking on your name in the upper right, "Account Settings", then on the right side box, "Notification Settings".
