Dark Watcher's Task Force was designed as a sequel to The Cimmerian Conspiracy AE arc, building upon several months of associated roleplay with supergroups such as the Accord and the Technocratic Union, alongside numerous independent characters and roleplayers. The story revisits the decisions made by the players of the previous arc, investigating Science Lord Rixis and his Cimmerian Path for their involvement with the attack on Vanguard while also working to curtail his poisonous attempts at manipulating everybody involved.

 

Dark Watcher's Task Force, despite having a higher level barrier for play, is the easier of the two arcs to complete with optional objectives that allow even solo players on unoptimized builds to overcome the challenges they will face. As in the Cimmerian Conspiracy, the players of Dark Watcher's Task Force will have the opportunity to pursue multiple, loosely alignment-based objectives and decisions. Also per The Cimmerian Conspiracy, Dark Watcher's Task Force features two (kind of fake) badges awarded in the form of custom-image power tray macros, one for completing the arc and the second for completing an optional objective.

Badge 1: Chaos Theorist

  • During mission 3 while investigating Vanguard HQ, take the opportunity to tamper with the evidence and arbitrarily (or perhaps not so arbitrarily...) indict completely random groups of interest and parties of note as having been involved in the attack on Vanguard. 

 

Badge 2: Quasi-Star

  • Simply complete the story arc! You will receive instructions on how to create the badge macro in the mission completion clue for the last mission.

 

Patch Notes:

Patch 1.1: 

  • Adjusted the level range for mission 4, which was previously set to levels 50-54 due to Blue Steel from the Dark Astoria storyline for some reason being present in the Furious Citizens group (there is no reason nor indication for how or why he was included).
  • Minor cosmetic adjustments made to the final boss of the arc.

 

Patch 1.2:

  • Adjusted the priority of the clue the player receives for rescuing Incandescent. It should now appear at the bottom of the active clues tab.
  • Minor edits to mission two dialogue and text.

 

Patch 1.3:

  • Modified the mission 3 start clue to be a little more coherent.
  • Adjusted the objectives in mission 4 to indicate the presence of the rear door in the G.I.F.T. office, as people unfamiliar with the map did not know the door was present.
  • Fixed an issue where Shadowstart did not appear at the front-end of mission 5.
