Koda651 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) Tittle kind of says it all. Returning after a year-long hiatus and looking to make a Psi Armor stalker. Undecided on primary. I know Energy Melee does bonkers ST damage, but I'm looking for recommendations on a "balanced" set with at least one decent PBAoE. I already have a StJ/Stone and Elec/EA, both 50, so not too interested in repeating primaries. I'm experimenting with a Staff/Psi right now. Does Staff do respectable ST dps when fully kitted out? I do recall toying around with Psi Melee in the past and don't recall loving it, but I'd be willing to give it a shot again. Any other primary recommendations that... 1. Have respectable ST 2. Have some PBAoE (or a large cone) 3. Bonus: have CC to stack with the aura from /Psi Thanks in advance. It feels good to be back! Edited July 20 by Koda651

Groovy_Ghoul Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Ice Melee. Currently leveling an Ice/Psionic. Really good leveling experience. Recommended. 1

Certainly been comfy on my baby Scrapper of that combo. And Ice Melee Stalks are TASTY (Ice/Regen that never left Praetoria on her way to 50. Haven't figured out how I'm gonna Incarnate her...), so, should be a good ride. 1 Death is the best debuff.

Enemies affected by the random sleep control from Aura get an after effect of -resistance. Edited July 21 by Championess 1
Kaika Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) As someone with a fully kitted out 50+3 staff/psi, I can confirm it's a solid combo. It's AoE is extremely good, and it's survivability is comparable to tanks. It's single target is solid but definitely a bit on the lower end for a stalker specifically, but would be considered high by other at standards. It trades a bit of ST damage for utility, aoe, and survivability, but I would hardly call it bad at that. I can still solo most 54 AVs without much difficulty. I can confirm what everone else says about ice melee, its a very well rounded set on stalker. I do want to defend EM a bit though, while it only gets a single AoE cone, power crash get a buff on stalker compared to the other ATs, so it hits like a firetruck, on fire with a fairly low cool down and decent range and arc. It actually has fairly decent AoE presence off that one power alone. If you want a PBAoE for gameplay reasons though I understand. namcdan Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Hello all, would someone mind sharing their ice/psi Mids build? Wanting to make a psi armor toon and I’m a big fan of ice melee on stalkers?
CoeruleumBlue Posted Saturday at 05:42 AM Posted Saturday at 05:42 AM I like psi/psi. Psi Melee has two good PBAoEs and the boggle is fun since it doesn't break stealth, and can be stacked with Aura of Insanity to let you actually confuse people. I would also put at least one Cupid's Crush somewhere, either in the Aura of Insanity or somewhere else if you want to put more procs in Aura of Insanity yet have the full set of Cupid's Crush. I personally can't stand Ice Melee but that's just a matter of taste on my part, and I'm not telling anyone they shouldn't play Ice Melee. Staff is OK but I don't like that the Stalker version gives up the modes personally and still secretly hope they bring those back or make some other weapon with modes for Stalkers, since the mechanics on things like Staff and Savage Melee are probably not any good for Stalkers anyway since they require you to just keep attacking. I've started doing some Dark Melee Stalkers because of someone who said it was good on Scrappers because of the Soul Drain and the fact it does actually have one good AoE that's always up in addition to that so it should be good on Stalkers too since it doesn't require you to just keep attacking to make it work unlike Street Justice, Savage Melee, and Staff. Honestly probably anything you normally like that doesn't rely on repeated attacks is probably good on Stalkers so just pick what you like. <But life is change, that is how it differs from the rocks, change is its very nature.> — John Wyndham
