  1. Doesn't the D have power suppressors?  In fact early on, when the D first opened up, there weren't even travel powers allowed.  It wasn't a very popular decision and the suppressors were relaxed, but certainly not turned off.  Full on super powered fights just can't happen in the D.

The guy was strong and took a PCP like troll drug that makes him not feel pain. What’s there to surprress?

  2. Last night in Pocket D there was a super strength brute that must have "accidentally" consumed a drink spiked with Superadine after dancing with some Troll girls. The bouncers tried to kick him out after he stated picking fights with the other patrons in the club but that didn't go so well. Several bouncers were thrown through a brick wall and one even flew through the roof after getting hit with the most devastating uppercut I've ever seen. Luckily there was a healer on site to help the bouncers but the one that flew trough the rafters was instantly teleported to the hospital- I hope he is okay. Luckily, there was a mentalist on site who was able to put the brute to sleep so he could be brought to the PPD until the drug wore off. It was fascinating; she made the whole room calm down somehow. I had never felt so tranquil in my life after she stepped in, especially considering the circumstance! All in all, it's always a fun night out at Pocket D. I will definitely be back with my buds once they fix the wreckage!

  3. We did the weekly in the Chantry a couple days ago. I was half way through lvl 47. Upon completion I got 3.9 MILLION experience! 3.9 MILLION!! I could not believe it. That equaled about 10 bars give or take at lvl 47! It pushed me to within 4 bars of lvl 49. I had double xp on but still, I have never seen anything award that much experience in a single drop before! Got the 84 merits also.

  4. I joined a MSR tonight but it was screwy. My level 36 character did not get sidekicked up to the team leader who was 50+2. Someone said sometimes you have to rejoin teams (that's new...) I dropped and crashed and eventually got back in and got on the team and ...still not SK'd. What's up with that?

That’s weird. The other day I was lvl 42 running with a team doing lvl 50 missions. When the team disbanded I was still sidekicked to lvl 49 as a solo. I was able to street sweep lvl 50’s as a lvl 42 in PI and got awesome xp!

  5. Jack, I really appreciate the thoughtful responses! I'm learning a lot in this thread! Thank you for indulging me  ;D

I was trying to find how much of a buff to damage fury gives but couldn't find numbers online. I just saw that the overall damage cap for brutes is 775%. My current build has 170% damage and gets up to 250% with a second rage stacked. I was hopeful that fury would make up the difference lol. Do you have any knowledge on the specific numbers for fury?

Very interesting your comments on positional vs type. I've seen this discussed in the blaster forums but haven't ever considered it for a brute. Would you suggest it is more important to control for positional than type?

Valid points on the incarnate as well.

Man! This makes me want to try out some different builds in the field and see how they feel now. I might have to try one, respec, try another until I figure out what I want. Remind me please, can you respec incarnates? I can't recall.

Ultimately, I prefer working in teams so I feel like whatever I pick will be fine. But I also want to be able to tear up +4x8 maps solo as well. My ss/elec on live was the toon I used to PL my buds. I used to have a great build but after 7 years away the specifics are fuzzy! Either way I think I'm on track to have an even better one now!

    Thanks again, bud!

  6. I think these builds are pretty close. I gave up 5% defense in smashing and lethal for 5% extra fire and cold defense. I figured I'm already at resistance cap in smashing and lethal but a little lower than res cap for fire and cold so the extra 5% def in fire and cold would prob work better for me over there. My build also has double the toxic res and nearly 1.5x psi res. But you are right I've sacrificed regeneration and a little slice of damage. I figure with a full fury bar and stacked rage, I will be at damage cap no?

As for the incarnate, agility core paragon gives +33% recharge, +45% end red, and 20% defense. I lose +regen and +stun by not going spiritual but gain end reduction and defense. I'll have to consider which side of that trade-off is more important for me.

For your build, does you character currently have this build slotted or is it theory at this point? I'm just doing my homework right now but will be slotting him up soon. I have a feeling both of our builds will be monsters and we're probably ultimately splitting hairs here, no? *shrugs*

  7. Okay I'm getting excited! I've been tinkering with this build with some feedback from you guys and I think I found my final form! Please take a look at the latest and greatest and please give me any critique you might add!

Please take a look at the image in the link. The build in the left has more of a focus on defense and resistance. Hasten is ten seconds away from perma in this build. The second build, on the right, is 1.9s away from perma hasten at the detriment to def/res. Trying to determine how bad I need to be like the cool kids and have the perma hasten.

Apart from that, how do these numbers look compared to your build? Am I on the right track, should I be focusing more on something or another? Approx how much will my 10 sec delay of permahasten be improved if I get extra recharge with my incarnate buffs?

    Thanks for your consideration!

  9. I’m getting back into the swing of things on this server. Just got my first toon on this server to 38 and I actually skipped power surge. I used to have a fully purple IO’d out ss/elec beast on live. Looking back I feel like I never used power surge because my survivability was already great.

If there wasn’t the crash I would probably get it. Come to think of it another part of me wants to remember having perma powersurge but I just can’t remember. Is this possible? Anyone else skipping?
