First off, I love this combo.  It is really much more sturdy than I was expecting.  I can  solo quite well, and just invalidate any irritating types on missions from a team perspective.  Sappers and Roman Surgeons are especially fun to seek out and delete with extreme prejudice. Hitting Cyclopes or Paragon Protectors so hard that you skip their Unstoppable phase is just peachy. 

     

    Power Surge and Shadow Meld give you god modes, one is 3 minutes long (!) and the other is up about 1/2 of the time or better, but I don't click it constantly.  End is a non-issue with Energize providing a hefty endurance reduction, and Power sink refilling you if somehow you are sapped or fought far too long with super jump toggled on.     

     

    Here's close to what I use,  I dropped Soul storm and picked up a LoTG set mule in Invis, which moved around a bit of slotting, but this should get you started.  Insta-snipe is up after build up every time, and on teams with all the leadership tossed around, and is really good for using while you close the gap or to just remove a LT from the field.

  2. I've used Field medic pretty often on my Widow, you still have to sort of back out of combat to activate it, then aid self, then back in swinging, but the boost to the heal is pretty nice, plus I seem to get a large amount of endurance back over time.  It more than pays for itself for what I've experienced.    I haven't crunched actual numbers, but I've been at about 25% end, then hit field medic and aid self and 5 seconds later enjoying a filling or full bar.  Anecdotal evidence for sure, but I've experienced an endurance surplus from the two skills.

     

     

    In solo play, I'll pop field medic right before I go into a clutch fight, and then aid self is ready for those early hits through soft cap.  It seems to allow for an incredible amount of sustain for longer fights. 

     

     

  3. Oh, and here's a build, because I'm silly and forgot.  It's not my final build but I don't have anything more pricy than this in my 'final' setup. 

    This is a good stepping off point to make your own.  I altered this by taking dart burst and not slash, and some powers moved around to accommodate.

  4. I use Musculature on my widow because while I was nigh-unkillable unless Rularru are involved, my damage felt anemic.  In groups damage feels okay, but solo I can survive standard stuff forever but it also takes me a long time to finish off a +3 or +4 x8 group of enemies.  Better now with the incarnate stuff loaded up, but in the early incarnate levels I was using Judgment every spawn because it was off cooldown.  The Assault Hybrid helps a good amount too when it's up.  I went Barrier for the party/raid rez and to shore up defenses when cascading defense failure starts to happen. Interface was the toxic proc, Degenerative I think.  Judgement, I took Ion because I wanted to hit more targets on incarnate content and raids and such, but Vorpal is thematic for sure.  Lore is personal preference, I think.  I took Arachnos just because. 

     

     

    Forts are more expensive because Mind Link recharges in 240 seconds out of the box on Night Widows, but it takes 300 seconds on the Fortunata side.  That means that you need a good hunk more recharge to get it perma, which usually means more purples or other pricy sets. 

  5. Zepp pretty much has it on the nose there.

     

    The Panacea +hit points\endurance proc in health did a good amount to help my claw only widow's endurance woes.  I still ran outta gas much faster than I would have expected, especially in the level range you are speaking of.  In the end, I resorted to putting a level 30 or 35 endurance reduction IO into all my single target attacks, and that helped immensely.  Once I got above 35 or so, my endurance issues went away; to the point that I'll get halfway through a map and realize that I left my super jump toggle on instead of swapping to combat jumping. 

     

    Also, the Field Medic medicine pool power adds an endurance heal to Aid Self which is significant.  I was 43 and in a mission with a group, running +3 content, and most of the team wiped on a double pull of Circle of Thorns.  I was over softcap to all positions with mind link and close without, and had enough heal and sustain  from Aid Self and Field medic to keep slicing through the CoT until everyone used wakies or did a hosp run and came back to rebuff and clean up.  Only dropped a few of them during that time because the to-hit debuffs on me but I held them all off and lived through.  It was a great feeling to be sure :)

  6. A level 50 endgame build is the destination, the journey may look way different. 

     

    My Widow, for example, is built with different power picks and slotting now than they will be at 50.  Some of which is because I just don't have the slots for everything yet; that means my attacks are not fully slotted and drain much more end without their set bonuses that I had to slot them for end reduction.  I also do not yet have Aid Self, though it could have saved my bacon many times over, because I took a travel power and the innate plus to accuracy power widows get because I'm getting into so many groups where we are fighting purples and things with mucho - to hit debuffs (Katie Hannon TF last night was just a -cavalcade- of misses until I grabbed a tray of yellows after a death; so many hurricanes). 

     

    I'm going to respec to close to my endgame build over the weekend at around level 40.  Then maybe again at 50 if i need to tweak anything. 

  7. That's one thing I love about CoH, two characters with the same archetype, primary, and secondary, two widely different builds, both quite effective.   

     

    Here's my take on Plant/Storm/Ice.  S/L defense softcap instead of Ranged/AoE, just inside perma hasten numbers, less purples and no archetype sets.  Quite viable at +4 x8 with bosses off for faster kill speed, some missions can do bosses on, depending on enemies really.

  9. Hi all, this is my second whack at a build for my fire/dark dom:  I'd appreciate feedback and such for it.  I made this without fire cages due to the -KB they used to provide, I'm amenable to taking the power or not. 

     

    My goals are full stealth, perma domination and (close to at least) hasten, and defenses at or as close to cap as possible Mace Mastery taken for scorpion shield.

     

    Any pitfalls or traps I'm stepping in? This will take a while to bankroll, but I'm patient and with merits being useable for basically all of it, I'm willing to invest.

  10. Love my Plant/Storm/Ice so much, she was my 1st (so far only)  to 50 on Excelsior.  Much of that has been solo work at x8 players, but it groups pretty darn well too, mitigating a lot of issues with alpha strikes hitting the melee folks like trucks.  Can run +4x8 incarnate stuff solo easily, and other content at +3 or +2 at a speed I'm comfortable with.  I could do +4 then, but kill times are longer than I want.  Be ready for longer EB and AV fights, but AoE content just gets steamrolled. 

     

    I don't have my heals in my build, but I haven't needed them grouping, usually some teammate is better set up to heal anyhow. 

     

  11. I went Ice on mine, the ice storm is a nice layered AoE which works well with freezing rain.  Hibernate is a good oh crap button, and after you summon your storms and tornado and creepers, you can just watch them tear up mobs while you regen health and endurance in the process. Frozen armor is good +def as well.  Helped me get to S/L softcap  along with (just barely) perma hasten.  Plus it leans into the storm side of your theme if that's important to you. 

     

    Stone is a nice contender though, especially with that big single target hit.  Would be my second choice if my build wasn't just where I'm used to it.
