Thanks ATC, this turned out to be the situation. I visited Null and switched over to "pure" hero and the badge was awarded (along with a few more). The character was originally set to "rogue" and the badge was not appearing until I changed the aligment. Mystery solved. Scooby snacks for everyone!

On Windows10: Tried and True badge was not awarded to my character (mission holder) even after meeting the requirements for the 3 parts, twice. Another player, @Zed, was assisting me for the second run while we made sure to meet all the requirements, and his character received the badge while mine did not. Support request #31971 with GM Kiwi
