  1. Probably give it a pass.  Not adverse to fantasy at all ( ESO, NWN, others & over 5000 hrs into GW1 (I keep Bouncing off of GW2) but prefer SF--probably have double that into Anarchy Online.)

Now if someone did a Shadowrun MMO right I'd be all in.  I never played the tabletop but own the books and read about 28 of the novels.  I did get all of the Harebrained Schemes ones-- good but not MMO.

  2. Homecoming hasn't doomed me...YET.  Frankly I'm still holding off until the "LEGIT" flag hits.  I am having a blast with the costumes and learning the game with low level stuff.  In the meantime, I have been doomed by other MMO's. (AO, ESO, Defiance) :D

I also fired up Champions on Friday and... GAH!  I don't remember it visually being that bad.  Now I never did much with it but have some HOURS in it.

    CoH's graphics are fine!

Other 4X space games I really like:  Reach for the Stars (C64) STARS! (win 3.1), Sword of the Stars I, (SOTS 2 had a really rocky launch & while I own it, have done really maybe an hour in it. Its many patches supposedly made it playable), Polaris Sector (on GOG-- kinda pricey), Star Ruler 2, Distant Worlds, Sunless Skies<--Steam Locomotives in SPAAACE!), Endless Space 1 is good but I bounced off of ES2.

Steam has 2 huge sales-- their annual winter holiday one and annual summer one.  Interspersed with those will be Labor Day, Halloween, US Thanksgiving (Black Friday), US Prez day, & Memorial Day Sales.  As Gog has gotten bigger they began doing similar sales & usually trying to upstage Steam by holding theirs a week or 2 earlier.

  4. I use a Nostromo controller (well now its successor from Razer) with its default WASD setup with  a couple-three keys changed.  A lot of games, both online & not, use "E" as the use/activation key which I either put at top right or just below it depending on the game.

Wait a minute, you're talking about Marvel shutting down the site that made skins for Freedom Force, aren't you @ed fray?

For those that didn't play it or don't remember, Marvel did go after a site that made skins for Freedom Force, and I think they won that suit. The reason it doesn't apply here at all though is, the company at the time was *selling and distributing* said skins. Marvel sued them for making a profit of their IP, and rightfully so in my mind. This is not akin to what's going on here though, and didn't really impact Freedom Force itself, just the third party skin creation site. I mean, you can purchase and play Freedom Force on Steam today, and if you haven't I'd suggest you give it a shot if you've got the time and money.

Yes, that is what I was bringing up. I think they went after anyone who was paying homage a little too closely to their IP.  The fan counter argument was "This is for fun & spreads your brand & people will be all mad at you for being bullies..." to which the lawyers replied "...sets a bad precedent so deal with it...".
