I've been leveling many different characters (as I assume many of us do) and managed to get all those expensive ATO's and some winter enhances for my stalker.
Been playing a brute (dark/regen) most recently and most builds I see have a ton of winter sets on top of the ATO's. I am aware these are top of the line and the goal... But prior to being able to afford these (I can only farm for so long) and outside of boring regular IO's, are there any common budget sets worth it for brutes? I took a look around but wasn't too sure about the overall strength of other cheaper sets.

I've recently been leveling a dark/regen brute, having a blast and feeling good enough tanking large groups 1 or 2 levels above mine. Dark drains seem to fill in gaps that regen sometimes won't heal through.
It was brought to my attention that regen is considered an inferior power set. Normally I wouldn't care too much since this game makes nearly every power set combo work. I'm just concerned that once I'm doing endgame, I'll be terrible at tanking or anything else a brute can be doing. Is regen really that bad? Just seems like a different set than straight up def or regen.

Looking to build this guy, not sure where to go, first brute here... I kinda like the flavor that Stone seems to have and I was looking for a Res-based set, elec seems to fit that. Any help with builds and slotting going around?

This thing is endurance heavy so until you get Ageless you will have to lean on your Kyoyo a bit. I also like this option because you can get Shadow Meld which helps when you get hit with defense debuffs. One thing to note on Ninja, you auto crit from hide. This means you can use your Shinobi-Iri plus stealth IO in sprint to plop yourself in the middle of (most) groups, hit Build momentum (which often procs chance for build up) then open with an auto crit of Whirling Smash for around 650 damage. If the +recharge proc kicks in and/or you are on the early side of popping ageless you can get 2 more Whirling Smashes before momentum wears off.

------------The pure melee version has room for a travel power but no Shadow Meld or Tactics. On both builds Maneuvers is just a mule. If you want more defense you could take the full set of Obliteration instead of just the 5 slots for a bit more melee defense. Feel free to play around with it as you will. Agility is another option for even faster recharge and better endurance but it is already at perma hasten without it and I rarely have endurance issues as long as I am paying attention to my blue bar.

As far as advice goes I would say pay attention to momentum and if possible, wait until you don't have momentum going before using your heal, recovery tool or mez protection clickie.
I'm ok with either ranged or melee. Whatever works best overall, I guess, in most situations, if that's a thing 🙂

Saw on another thread on the Brute forums that TW/Ninja is a pretty good combo for Scrappers. I have no idea where to start, never having played a scrapper, and only some limited experience in stalkers (who sadly can't wield a TW because... y'know, it's not stealthy!). However, the prospect of a ninja wielding giant weapons really appealed to me, and I've always loved the animations of TW as well that I see on other players. The idea intrigued me! Any build advice or samples would be GREATLY appreciated on what direction to take this.

Hiya! Recently joined Homecoming and found time to play... kinda overwhelmed at first but I'm slowly getting the hang of things. Been mostly playing this Dark/Mind dominator but I could use some direction on how to slot and maybe a general build order... I saw another thread about Dark/Mind but it didn't get any replies, wanted to try my own luck if there's anyone out there that wants to pitch in.
