Probably not the best title.
This is probably one of those ideas that sounds simple in theory, but is difficult in practise. Basically, I think it would be cool from a character creation perspective to be able to pick from more than just the default options.
Some examples to better explain what I haven't explained at all. Imagine a blaster. I have ice powers. No matter what origin I chose, those little ice blasts are coming out of my hands like I'm casting a spell. What if, instead, I could have a rifle instead? Use the already existing rifle animations and models, but use the wibblies and particulars from *insert powerset*. It would function (mechanically) exactly the same as an ice blaster, but visually...I'd have a gun. Or two guns. Or a magic stick...idk.
A scrapper with a cursed sword that uses the broadsword animations, but has the functions of the dark melee set. Or a dual sword wielding maniac with the titan weapon set. Nothing about the actual game values would change, but it would open up a whole world of charactisation options. Want to use claws with a shield? Slap some claws on the dude while still using one of the available melee sets.
I know it's not exactly ground/deal breaking having *insert powerset* being limited to *insert method of damage delivery*, but it would still be pretty nifty.
Thank you for the sacrifice of brain cells you lost while reading this.
