We're getting pretty far afield of the original post, which simply asked if Torchbearer was the unofficial LGBTQ server. It's a harmless question, no different from earlier threads asking if Everlasting was the unofficial RP server. All this everyone-is-welcome stuff is fine, great, fantastic, let's all sing Kumbaya...but none of it actually addresses the question. Is Torchbearer the unofficial LGBTQ server or not? If it isn't, I say just come to Everlasting, y'all, so the queer RPers aren't left out in the cold.

In purely practical terms I've found that the stat-granting accolades are a bit easier to earn redside than blue. The zone design is tighter and there are fewer garbage areas like Boomtown and Crey's Folly. In regards to people's qualms about playing evil, I get that, but there are levels to it. I play lot of villains, but I lean toward semi-principled rogues or well-intentioned evildoers with a sense of honor. I avoid soulless monsters and anybody that Westin Phipps would have on his friend list. Everyone's mileage varies there, but there is a lot of villainous ground to be trod without being a complete sleaze. Another fun villain type is one who opposes the heroes mostly for the excitement and the challenge of it. I like to play this character as powerful but nonlethal, a Robin Hood type who steals from the rich and the corrupt then dares the heroes to try and stop or catch him. The character never stoops to cowardly acts like kidnapping, never hurts the innocent. etc.

They are simpering, pusillanimous dolts who attempt to justify their greed and their bloodlust by draping themselves with the noble cloak of heroism! And before the end they will beg, they will weep, they will grovel, but they will receive no mercy. And we, whom they call villains, will take our rightful place as the RULERS of this world! I attempted to unpublish my AE arc, #141, but it didn't go away. It still shows up in AE and it is still attributed to my global (@Blackshear), and I still get feedback on it, but I can no longer attempt to edit or unpublish it. It's as if it's my arc and not my arc at the same time. Can some kind GM take it down for me?

If this game goes under it'll likely be due to NCSoft pulling the plug, which means public servers would be done for the foreseeable future. Since the server code is out there secret servers will most assuredly pop up, presuming they haven't already, but that may or may not be feasible for me. I guess I'd pop on Paragon Chat, light a torch and have a sad, then go on with my life.

I understand the AE nerf...AE uses a lot of server resources, apparently. Nerfing tip missions, though, I'm not sure I get the logic.

What's odd about this is hero and villain alignment mishes still reward their respective merits, which according to the merit vendors are still worth 50 merits, so does that mean the timers are still in place for those missions? Otherwise, just get Null the Gull to change you to hero or villain and grind those tips instead.

In terms of the tip mishes there's no sense being a rogue or a vigilante...you get 20 merits for the rogue or vig alignment mishes, whereas you in effect get 50 for finishing up a hero or villain alignment mish. Of course, unless you're really stuck on the the alignment powers you can just let Null the Gull change your alignment to whatever you need it to be at a given time.

I feel that. But the community has spoken, Everlasting has been chosen, and that's alright.

I'm in Everlasting now, and about everyone here is in agreement that this is the place.

I like that, seeing as the server name is already done in the Mighty Marvel Manner™. Still, I think it's good to have a dedicated thread in case further discussion is warranted.

Once this whole big situation shows signs of setting down a bit we should pick out a server to be the unofficial RP hub, as Virtue once was. Any early nominations? My only opinion is not Torchbearer, since it's sort of the "flagship" server. If these servers survive the NCSoft deal Torchbearer will likely morph into the new Freedom.

That's the question, isn't it? We really ought to select a server to be the unofficial RP server so people will know where to congregate if they want the Virtue experience again.

So, Virtue peeps, which of the new servers do we all want to move to?
