  1. Hi.

I would like a guide on how to make COH use as little memory and cpu as possible. I tried alt tabbing to do something and my computer froze. The only cpu intensive program I had open was COH when this happened. I have 6gb ram, a xeon 3.20 cpu, and integrated graphics, so i'm not sure why this is happening. Must be something in the settings eating up all the resources? Help!

+Rep to whoever makes a guide on the subject.

It would be pretty solid, the one issue beast/ice is going to have is healing. Aid pool would be necessary and beasts are not the most durable of MM pets to begin with. Without an AOE heal of some kind it'll be hard to keep your pets alive all the time especially in any higher level content, cold has no heal at all. Great buff/debuff, but not a single healing power in the set.

What about beasts/dark? I think that had both defense aura, debuffs, and healing in it, not 100% sure though.

Aww post a thread about that. Kinetics is one of the sets I don't fuck with with MMs because most of what it does doesn't benefit pets. It's a below average MM secondary choice and works better on Corrs and Defenders which get higher buff/debuff numbers. There's no way to get beast/kin to good defense numbers, beasts don't have good innate resistance like demons do, demons/kin would be a better overall choice but even that isn't great. Healing would be ok, melee pets with a melee range heal.

I'd have to figure it out from scratch cause I've never fucked with either beasts or kinetics. But I will tell you it will be a bitch of a build to make, because beast NEEDS it's personal attacks to perform fully and there are a limited number of sets which are actually good to take personal attacks with. Beast/traps would be a decent choice, beast/time would probably be your best overall bet.

    Would beasts/ice be any good?

  4. Hello everyone.

I was trying out some new things in fruity loops, and I made a theme for my new Ingame Character. I asked on the discord and GM Kal said that music counts as art, so hopefully this post won't get me in trouble.

And since there is no way to attach it here (the file is too big T_T...) I have linked it on soundcloud. Yes, it is a link, but is COH related, and a fanmade artistic creation. Apologies if not allowed for some reason.

Edit: The rules say no steaming or recording but screenshotting isn't mentioned in them, so I assumed it'd be fine to do this.

Alright its like nucleus exposure? Easiest way to find it is in the actual menus. Go to enhancements on the left side, then scroll to special enhancements (4th category). They're for level 50s so before that either put in a cheap set or just like 1 acc 2 damage IOs until then.

    Thanks!

Could you help me out with one more thing?

  6. Lets continue this list, shall we?

    Accountants

Engineers (Like from a certain game where they can construct their own turrets to attack for them? xD)

    Anime Girls

    Chibis

    Lamps

    Attack helicopters

    Celebrities

    Ghosts

    Bunnies

    The grand finale:

    Toddlers attack!

For thugs I would recommend the following slotting.

T1 Thugs - 5 slot with one pet set and drop a second pet unique into the last slot for 2 defensive uniques

Enforcers - 3 slot hamidon acc/damage 1 LOTG +def/Global Recharge or defense IO, 2 defense debuff damage procs (enforcers do nuts proc damage)

Bruiser - 5 slot with pet set with pet def unique, soulbound allegiance damage proc

Gang war - 3 pet def uniques, 2 50+5 recharge IOs, Overwhelming force KB proc.

This fits all the pet uniques into the build. You sacrifice a bit of set bonuses to make your pets pretty tanky. 30% base resistance for all of them, 10% melee/ranged defense and 20% aoe defense, gang war recharges fast, and overwhelming force KD proc makes it useful as something other than an aggro/damage sponge. Enforcers do nuts DPS with procs, 4 of their attacks can proc the 2 damage procs you put in them and each attack has a different proc counter on it so they proc ALOT.

With that setup your thugs should be able to do some nuts damage while being strong defensively. Match it with dark or any defense based secondary and you should be able to softcap them all. This is the slotting I have with my thugs/time and they're all softcapped to all positions so long as they're in range of me and the enforcers and pretty damn sturdy, 30% resistance even on your T1s makes them very rarely get one shot and the bruiser has his own resistance so he's actually really goddamn tanky after that.

Could you tell me the exact name of all the enhancements? When I search hamidon in auction house I'm only seeing salvage materials, not enhancements?

Sometimes it's just fun to share things that would be fun to play in the future even if it's beyond any of our talents.

    So here goes.

    Minions worth summoning!

    Spiders.

    Vampires.

    Lawyers.

Dinosaurs. (Saw another thread on this one)

    Mermaids.

    Angels.

Angels, but historically accurate. flying rings of eyes and whatnot.

    Mermaid Lawyers.

    Construction Crew.

    Drinking Buddies.

Flawed Clones. (random henchmen, lieutenants, bosses from all enemy groups) "Going go good! Go Good!"

Carnies from the Carnival of Shadows/Light.

Mind-controlled civilians. (bit odd for a hero but whatever)

    Stuffed Animals.

Action Figures with obviously fake, non working guns.

    Dolphins.

Pixelized digital characters. (Think like the "arcade" theme from league of legends, obvious homages to classic video games) Bonus points if they're two dimensional. Somehow.

Moles, groundhogs, and hedgehogs with mining hats and mining picks.

    Dolphin Lawyers.

    Space Alien Facegrabbers.

    Housecats. (You CAN herd them!)

Alts. (okay, this one's not serious)

We should totally be able to summon our alt characters! Excellent idea!!

  9. Guys I am running Thugs/FF, but may switch to Thugs/Dark for the extra pet...

Should I slot 4-5 of these entire sets, or just slot my gang war slot with the resistance/defense auras from the individual sets, sacrificing the set bonuses completely...?

Call to Arms. Expedient Reinforcement. Sovereign Right. Command of the Mastermind. Mark of Supremacy. Edict of the Master

    Which option would be better?

    You skipped two vital powers:

    Deflection Shield

    Insulation Shield

Get rid of Detention Field and Repulsion Bomb. One is useless, the other is not needed with Thugs.

I thought detention is pretty useful because you can hold a stronger enemy while you pick off its weaker henchmen?

It's not a matter of whether the game allows it or not;  It's a matter of why, as a new player, you would specifically opt to not actually play the game from character creation to max level, instead opting to skip large swathes of content in favor of essentially letting the game play itself.  Why not create a character and level them up the "old-fashioned" way, get to know the game and its storyline(s)/mythology, and only once you are familiar with everything, opt to skip content in order to level up and experience higher level content with a different build?

I guess you're right. I was sucking until recently but I joined a 4 person team and we were getting 200 exp each per kill a while ago at lvl 8-10 composed team.

I'm not sure if the OP is being tongue-in-cheek, but isn't it a bad idea to give a "newbie" advice on AFK farming?  Isn't it kind of counter productive to such a person learning the ins and outs of the game?

I'm honestly not being tongue in cheek, I am new and a game I used to play had this mechanics. You would summon your pet, go to a location where monsters spawn, and afk. Each time they attack you, your pet would kill mobs, and then they would respawn in the same area, giving you the ability to kill them again. It was allowed becuase it is utilizing only game mechanics and not a script, so the game is not receiving any fake input pretending to be a player's actions.

  13. Hello everyone. I had a great idea for the forums, maybe it would be better in it's own section, though.

Okay so here we go: What if you could use your writing english skills to commence 1v1 typed battles between each-other in forum topics. There could be a limited number of actions you could type in your post, as a challenge for the other persons writing skills involving the game.

Example: "Username" summons three thugs, leaps forward followed by aiming a poison ability, teleports back, sending thugs to charge in while attempting to kite "Challenger's username" and hopes for the best.

Example of what not to do:

"Username" summons thugs that hit for 1000000 damage and knockbacks the challenger, he is totally defeated!

  14. Almost missed one! (I would edit my topic but people might reply without seeing this, if double posting something intelligent is against the rules than I truely apologize, let me know and I will delete this second post.)

Farming at lvl 50 would logically take millions upon millions of inf, but I have an alternative to it. I am not sure if it will work, but could be viable at any level I guess.

    5. Is it possible to afk farm as a summoner/pet class? E.g. Summon your pets at a lower level area (Enemies will not drop exp or money, but they still drop recipes and materials... right?) And then just afk and collect the recipes and materials from them, with your summons doing the damage for you, defensive auras up so you don't die.

    6. If 5. is possible, is it allowed by the rules??

  15. Hello everyone... I have been learning the game and had some questions about it.

    1. Is it possible to combine a taunt/provoke ability while flying above the range of an enemy to get them to target you but be unable to damage you?

    2. With enough ranged attack range increase... is it possible to aggro only one monster in a group, getting them to leave their group, and this pick off enemies one at a time instead of aggroing the whole group... would be useful for 1v1 dps if possible?

    3. Is it possible to increase the attack range of a melee type ability on a minion/pet

    4. I have the sovereign right set and am running thug/force field, which minion should I slot the set into?

  16. Hello everyone. I have been playing for a while now and reached a pretty okay level on my main character. I wanted to skip some missions and stuff on one of my lower lvl characters, and I was hoping someone who farms on Indomnitable server is accepting lowbies for inf and the money from any purple recipes from run sold in AH. If anyone is up for a run in atlas city (heroes side) post here.

IGN: Blood Harpy (The character that will be plvled for a short run.)

I can pay you 2,800000 Inf to come.

Hope to hear from you soon!

  17. I'm totally new to the game haha. I feel like im doing something wrong. I arrived at talos island and only do 17 damage... (with minions)

A while ago someone helped me level up and he was doing like 22k aoes inside a custom farm mission.

What clockwork unique are you referring to?

The free one from p2w vendor. I slotted it feeling gutsy and saw it increases damage, but it says -500.0% in description not 500% so I thought it was weird.

    (As in negative 500%)
