It's just a subfolder called: data
Whatever folder cityofheroes.exe is in, right-click on that parent folder chose "New" then "folder" and name that subfolder: data
I already tried that. I added the folder (created a new data folder) and put it in the City of Heroes Folder (that's where the .exe is) and then put my custom.window file into that. I then shut down the game and rebooted but didn't get anything.

There is a way to create a special custom window to store your macros instead of using trays:
To get started, create a folder called customwindows in your data/ folder, and then create a text file called custom.window in there. Make sure your text editor doesn't add ".txt" at the end or it won't work.
Inside custom.window, add this text:
Code: [select]
_____________________________
Window Macros 0 0 200 100
Open 1
End
_____________________________
"Macros" is going to be the title of the window; the other numbers are position and size (which you can then alter in game, so they don't matter much). Next time you start the game, this should be in the top left corner:
I always move mine to the right, above my insp window. It will always reset to the left when you log and you'll have to move it back.
Now you can click the "New Command" button, and that will make a new "Edit Me" button appear. Right-click it, and you can select "Edit Name" or "Edit Command" in order to customize the buttons to do whatever you want, as long as you can put it in a command.
I'm having issues with this. I've created the custom.window file, however I can't seem to find the data/ folder. I've tried creating a data/ folder in the City of Heroes main folder and putting the file in there but that didn't work. I tried putting the file into the City of Heroes main folder, but that didn't work either.
Where is the data/ folder? is there a specific file in there that I can search my computer for?

Figured it out. My text files began with:
/bind Numpad7
This is wrong. It should begin with just Numpad7
-
I'm noticing that both of the bind files search for the same thing. The only difference between the files is that are loading each other, but in theory all you really accomplishing is:
/bind Numpad7 "target_custom_next Maelstrom“,
Additionally, since Maelstrom is not a system parameter for target_custom_next, the
/bind Numpad7 "target_custom_next Maelstrom” will only search for targets with Maelstrom in the name
Does this help?
Sorry the Siege file will target_custom_next Siege while the Nightstar file will target_custom_next Nightstar. In any case it does not work.
I made a test.txt file that had target_custom_next Shocker. I then set my Macro to load test.txt while standing next to the Shocker and it still didn't target him.
-
I want to make a single key that will search for multiple enemies when I press the button.
Ideally I will push my button and it will find a specific enemy and then load the next bind file to find a different enemy.
So....
I have created a Macro for BAF with the command "bind_load_file C:\Binds\BAF_Siege.txt"
In my C:\Binds folder I have a BAF_Siege.txt file which reads as follows: /bind Numpad7 "target_custom_next Maelstrom$$bind_load_file C:\Binds\BAF_Nightstar.txt"
I Also have a BAF_Nightstar.txt file which reads as follows: /bind Numpad7 "target_custom_next Maelstrom$$bind_load_file C:\Binds\BAF_Siege.txt"
What I was expecting to happen is that when I hit my macro, it will load the BAF_Siege.txt file so that when I hit Numpad7 it will target Siege (if he is in view) and then load the BAF_Nightstar.txt file so that by pressing Numpad7 a second time it will target Nightstar (if she is in view), loading the BAF_Siege.txt file afterwards. Repeated pressing of Numpad7 should toggle the selected target between Siege and Nightstar.
But it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong here?

Has there been any word from the original Devs about the resurrection of City of Heroes? I'd really like to hear their thoughts on the matter.
-
I'm not sure what you mean exactly.... BIND_LOAD_FILE is EXACTLY how I've always made my binds "change"....
I'm trying to make a Macro that does that. Not a Bind.
-
I'm pretty sure the answer is 'No' but I thought I'd ask anyways and hope for the best...
Is there anyway you can create a macro that 'changes' each time you use it? Similar to how you can add the BIND_LOAD_FILE command to a bind?

Is there a way to search chat channels for a server or do you have to know the channel name to begin with to join?

About to hit 50 this weekend and was wondering what are the best Farming Missions to look out for (no AE).

Someone asked about i25 Patch Notes earlier: https://score.savecoh.com/index.php/topic,1157.0.html
In it there was a link to the Patch Notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11cLJiSYlfueJheOumRywG8Evip2Mjmu_30Y6ePaetqY/edit#
The notes refer to a Coupon system that somehow links your website profile to your in-game email.
From the Document:
Coupon Code System:
There is a new backend for the microtransactions server that allows receiving in-game items from the forums. You must have logged in at least once since server reset in order for coupons to work for your account. The reward will be granted to the account linked to your forum account, so this is yet another reason to make sure your forum and game accounts are properly linked. If you can see your own characters on this page then you're good.
The reward will show under Email > Character Items without any popup or chat warning of any sort.
-
Can someone explain the coupon system to me?
-
nevermind. I guess this was a change for i25

Am I mis-remembering how things used to work or did the Debuff toggles automatically turn off and began recharging once the Target was dead? Now it seems like they stay on for awhile after the target dies and I have to manually switch them off. They will eventually automatically detoggle but it takes awhile.
Binds, Macros and useful info.
