  1. Rebirth uses a bot that mirrors in game channels to Discord. I check the LFG mirror a lot while doing other things and might jump on if something interests me. But, you have a good point about how quickly teams fill up so that might not be a good option for HC.
  2. There is a reason some of us prefer smaller population servers. Our family didn't originally choose to play on a smaller server (we didn't realize why Triumph was the first server offered at the time). I eventually did try out the larger servers, and quickly learned that we had accidentally picked the perfect server for us and when I ran out of slots on Triumph, I purposely started making characters on Protector. It's been years, but I believe that one of the reasons I switched to Everlasting and Excelsior when they were spun up was because I wanted the smaller population of a new shard (they might have also had some additional accelerated XP). As those shards grew, I found myself soloing more and more. I really should have picked up on the fact that I was doing it and moved to Indomitable (I'm lazy and didn't want to start all over with my bases). I love smaller servers for the community, the comradery, and the fact that the population size forces people to work with what shows up rather than saying that the team must have XX ATs or powersets. I love that when I join a team, half the people are in my friends list and there's usually a few moments of everyone greeting each other because just like Cheers, most people know your name. This doesn't bode well for people that are bossy, toxic, and are not team players. They can't hide in the population and those that don't learn to adjust their behaviors usually end up leaving. I've spent the majority of my playtime over last few months on another server that at it's peak might have the same amount of players as Indomitable but normally doesn't even come close. Yes, the population sometimes limits my original plans when I log on, but again, part of the appeal of smaller servers is learning flexibility. I'm sorry that you're having issues finding teams, but I'll propose that population isn't really the issue.
  3. The SSAs also give very good rewards for completing each story. My characters eventually run them all, and the first Pandoras Box and 2nd Who will Die are regularly repeated for the rewards (repeats are on a 1 week timer per reward). I think the final episode of Who Will Die is probably my favorite story arc wrap up in the game.
  4. Okay, it makes sense now. 3 of the contacts for the Pandora Signature Story Arcs are located in Atlas. One of them requires you to be at least 30 to start, and the other two do require a level 40. So yes, if you had approached them and you weren't at that level, they will tell you to come back later. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Pandora's_Box_(SSA) Signature Story Arcs were introduced later in the game (not long before shutdown) and were for subscribers or purchased. They behave a bit different than the in-game story arcs that people have been explaining to you. In the future, if you want to do a SSA on a lower level character, the Who will Die series starts at level 10, although I usually wait until my 20s to start them as the EB at the end of the first arc can be a little tough at level. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Who_Will_Die
  5. I'll admit that I don't team very much on Everlasting, but the majority of my experiences were pleasant and I the only times my AT/powers were questioned it was the same type of people that did it on live (Asking me why fire/dark corruptor wasn't healing enough, etc. lol). While I'm not a RP'er, one of the reasons I enjoy teaming with them is that they tend to care about more things that just how quickly we cleared the map. I'm sure the majority of the players just want you to enjoy what you're playing at the moment.
  6. Welcome back to the game. I started back playing as soon as the first server came up but I'm happy to compare experiences with you. I'm one of the people that used the Sentinel tool at shutdown to save all of my characters. I was very disappointed to find out that we wouldn't be able to bring our characters back (and even stood up my own server to do so) - so I immediately set to work to recreate them. However, like you, it was hollow for me and the only one that I stuck with was my namesake. I eventually realized that what made those characters special to me was the memories tied to them. I still use the names that are special to me, but I'm having fun exploring different powers or even different ATs with them. I've been especially tickled that my very first character (who was my original namesake before I created Tatmia) can now have the powers that I originally wanted when I first made her 2005. The faster speed of the game happened before shutdown. The changes to debt had a huge impact on leveling speed along with the introduction of IOs, the ability to change difficulty and team sizes. Granted, the START vendors xp powers help, but I started playing on another sever that doesn't have those xp powers about 7 months ago and have 6 non-pl'd level 50s there. Defenders and controllers will always be my first love. Damage may be king but I will always prefer the force multiplier teams. I still love utterly destroying a TF with an "all support" team. I mainly played on small severs on live (Triumph and Protector) and while the servers were just picked because they were the first in the list, I quickly learned to love the "bring whatever you want" playstyle that was often required. I've luckily found a group that gives me that experience again. If you're missing that, maybe try a character on one of the smaller shards?
  7. I honestly have no idea what you're saying. I never implied it was a set here. I play on both Homecoming and Rebirth and I'm well aware that the devs update existing sets differently. I've played the updated Trick Arrow on both servers. Neither server completely changed how the sets work, they mainly stuck to cottage rule. This thread was started by the OP calling out that other servers already implemented the sets and I gave a hypothosis on why the HC devs looked at the code and decided to pass due to ROI. "No copy" wouldn't apply as the other servers didn't create these sets, they already existed in the code. That's quite different than asking Silver Age Fan to share the new dance emotes, for the Rebirth devs to share the new Synapse task force, or for Homecoming to share Seismic blast.
  8. Maybe. That was a discussion about asking the servers to share things they had developed with each other, especially all the costume work that Silver Age Fan has developed. Wind control (and water control) already existed along with the origin pools and like the origin pools I believe the devs just finished the work that was already in place. They are making another update to the set. Wind control has a "pressure" mechanic with builder powers and consumer powers and on Rebirth there currently isn't the red ring indicator power letting you know that you have fully built pressure and which powers can consume it. Muon confirmed that they've made that update to the powerset for Issue 7 (Heard the rumor that the final origin power, utility belt, will also be released at that time, but I don't recall reading that being confirmed)
  9. A bit embarrassing but I’m not Discord savvy enough to figure out how to link an invite. I think it’s on Reddit or you can just search for the name
  10. It’s just a guess, but I don’t think that’s the reason. The HC development team seems to lean toward homogenization and that sets within an AT should all perform similarly. Wind and water control break the mold for control sets. Wind control has power mechanics which are usually reserved for melee and can do ridiculous things in the hands of a skilled player. Water control is kind of OP with its forced movement and knockdowns. My hypothesis is that they know these powers would start a whole new cycle of calls for buffs and nerfs and just don’t see the ROI to introducing the sets.
  11. I have a Cake New Dawn account and found myself so overwhelmed with all of the options at the character creator that I never made one, lol. I'm definitely going to give it a try one of these days. I enjoy reading their discord and seeing what people are playing.
  12. Your first section is the exact reason why I don’t want your last section. Different ideologies are good. Variety is good. There is a reason why I encourage people to try out all the servers. When the game first came back, I didn’t care for the vision that the original Rebirth devs were heading, so I picked Homecoming. Last year I realized that I was disagreeing more and more with the direction of Homecoming development, so I tried out other servers (while mainly playing on Homecoming). This year I’m mainly playing on Rebirth. It’s good to have options. I wish more people realized that rather than just leaving the game entirely when they no longer agree with their servers development team
  13. For full transparency- the character I’m currently playing who uses Air Superiority is on another server where the damage was boosted
  14. It’s always been a favorite for my flying controllers. Plus, the animation while hovering is hilarious. I love it so much that when I commissioned art work for Tatmia - I asked that she was painted using it on Jack in Irons
