Thanks for all the tickets, folks. 😅

Hey, how necessary are the end and HP accolades for the afk farming build? I have everything I need for it but getting all of those accolades on a fresh tanker seems like it'd take a while, if i have t4 ageless and t3 musculature and assault is that enough? The survival amplifier seems a bit expensive to be worth buying it at 2.5mil per hour. also, thank you for putting this guide together.

Edit: I am trying out the slightly modified elec/rad afk build on tanker and I think I am doing something wrong .. I just die immediately, even though Ive completed the build, and gotten t4 musculature, t4 ageless and t3 assault. any suggestions? i dont have the hp accolades but i got the survival amplifier and i still just die like within 10 or so seconds in the afk 5 minute farm. Im not sure what i'm doing wrong. build im using is attached to the post.

  2. So my first character is a Fire/Ice blaster, and she's great, vet level 150ish now, all T4'd and IOset'd out. She's cool, and she's been great for me and I use her for farming and alot of other things.

my question is, after having gone through some other characters who have a bit more ideal secondaries, if I'm wanting to optimize a fire blaster to just be crazy good and be properly slotted, should I raise up a fire/fire or a fire/different secondary?

I like ice, but really at level 50 I don't use any ice abilites except frigid protection and build up, the ice patch is ok but bonfire kb to kd is better.

I haven't even taken hardly any ice abilities since i was trying to go perma hasten, the most I could do was have haste with a 5 second cooldown, which is good enough for me. Inferno is like a 30~ second cooldown so she's been pretty good to me considering I started playing coh last year.

but I mean should I go fire/fire for more set bonus opportunities? or could I respec ice abilities to have a similar effect? Is the fire sword melee circle move actually worth slotting and using after inferno?  I did fully slot RotP with Armageddon.

Or if anybody has a really good fire/ice build i'm open to it. I mean I love my fire/ice blaster but the main thing is I just want to be sure that this character can do the same amount of damage and have the same set bonuses that a fully end game fire blaster should have, and if it's just a better idea to go fire/fire then ill do that. Or fire/something else

any thoughts? thank you for any responses

Go trick arrow and never look back. You'll be surprised at how effective debuffs are. The ninjas keep themselves healed. Its a high APM play-style. Of the countless MM combos i've done, this one shreds hordes of mobs solo (54/8 all foe types, spider, carnies, DA mission mob types ect). Vengeance power boosted is pretty amazing but if you don't team often ( or people don't die often) can swap it out for poison gas arrow and slot the self heal proc into it. Open ideally with a power boosted flash arrow but not required for engagements. This build can pull multiple packs of mob and the ninjas/AoE procs will plow it all down. Grab defense amp buff from P2W for added status protection if you feel it is needed.

Hey, I am trying this build out now and im kinda looking for tips on how to use it .. it seems very difficult to use. im opening with flash arrow and using power boost, but the mobs keep getting to me. The timers on emp and oil slick are still pretty long, can you explain a bit more in detail how you're supposed to play this? I was trying to solo on +3/6 on peregrine radios and it seemed a little rough at times. I didn't slot poison gas arrow though, maybe I should try that if I'm soloing? Any other tips? maybe I'm newer to MM, if stuff is getting to me I should immediately call them back to what's hitting me/flash arrow/ice/etc. Would the poison gas slotted w/ self heal make a big difference? any info on this would help. it seems like a fun build but im struggling to really destroy stuff with it. it could be my skill level lol but even so I feel like i'm doing something wrong rather than just not being good enough with it.

While I also tend not to worry about combo level, I am curious why recharge will be low on on combo builders?

I don't know, I assumed it would be since at level 38, my combo builder recharge is fairly low. 1-2 seconds for initial strike, maybe 3-4 for others. I just assumed a level 50 build could stand some considerable global recharge/haste and really make it low for the builders at least, maybe im wrong

    • Thanks 1
  5. Just wanted to be clear about using SJ for the best damage (at level 50, assuming you have some good global recharge and a nice build with decent sets etc)

If you miss combo builders and are at level 2, should you just use the finisher anyways? assuming you will have a low cooldown finisher?

or should you really try to get to combo 3 since the recharge on combo builders is probably going to be super low.

I heard sweeping cross wasn't worth it at level 50, so you only want the crushing punch and the spin attack aoe as finishers?

You want everything else though right, out of SJ

Also, how to build. I assume it's similar to most /willpower scrappers, go for recharge and tanky-ness with some regen and im assuming you slot the hell out of stamina/quick recovery/physical perfection for SJ since ive heard it uses alot of endurance

Something like that? any thoughts? im new to SJ but I really did not feel like playing it on a stalker since just it doesn't really fit with the theme im going for with SJ

thanks for any guidance on this

This question is not straightforward to answer, because it depends on

    1. The amount of rech enhancement in the power, which affects procrate;
    2. The amount of damage enhancement in the power - if it's already in red ED for damage, a proc is your only option for further significant damage enhancement. This is why all the highest-dps scrapper builds feature some level of procced attacks.
    3. What else you would replace the proc with, and whether that does more damage (or otherwise contributes something you want).

That said, mids' is generally quite good at calculating procrates and thus average damage contributed by procs. You can change around your slotting and observe how the damage fluctuates yourself, and you don't really have to bother with any of the math unless you want to.

Most builds can afford 1 attack filled mostly with procs even without really trying to procbomb. On my kats it tends to be SD (because the usual kat attack chain is GC SD GC GD, so typically don't need rech in SD). But the scrapper damage scalar is high enough that you will still do good damage without procs beyond what you get incidentally from slotting sets you desire anyway.

ok I can see what you're getting at here, so what proc enhancements would you put in SD then. I have superior blistering coldx5 in it at the moment + one recharge enhancement that's probably not really doing anything. I'd lose the set bonuses if i do anything but replace the recharge enhancement but im just curious what's possible, i may mess around w/ it in mids

  7. 1 minute ago, Uun said:

It depends on the primary/secondary and what the build requires. I always slot the scrapper ATOs. I typically 6-slot Superior Critical Strikes, but will split Superior Scrapper's Strike into two groups of 3 pieces if I want to double the S/L defense bonus (otherwise I'll 6-slot for the recharge and S/L resist bonus). The ATOs provide a lot of recharge enhancement, so try to slot them in powers that have long cooldowns. If I need positional defense, I'll slot Mako's Bite for the ranged defense bonus or Touch of Death or Superior Avalanche for the melee defense bonus. If I need typed defense, I'll slot Superior Blistering Cold for the S/L and F/C defense. The purple sets also provide a lot of recharge enhancement, so those also go in powers with long cooldowns.

I'm sure I could eke out more damage by slotting damage procs in lieu of full sets, but in doing so I would sacrifice valuable set bonuses and recharge slotted in the attacks for a more fluid attack chain. I'm not interested in building for pylon times, I want scrappers that are sturdy and fun to play.

Right, see i'm using superior blistering cold and the 2 archtype sets, with scrapper strike split as well.

I'm likely doing what I should be doing im just not used to it cause I came from playing a blaster. But yea my katana/willpower scrapper is omega tanky and I find that to be more important than trying to squeeze out a little more damage as well.

I also need to unlock hybrid slot lol that'd probably help things out as well.

One last question would you go barrier if a scrapper is already tanky or ageless? I really have 0 endurance issues, it would probably just take like a few seconds off dragonfly/dragon at this point. I just dont know if barrier would do anything if im already pretty solid defense wise. i know it's probably good to get both.

Thanks for the help, just wondering. I am quite new to scrapper, only played blaster so far.

Global recharge (including Hasten) doesn't affect proc chances, only recharge slotted in the power (or running Alpha Agility or Spiritual). A recharge of 16s or longer is generally the sweet spot for proc chances. I'm not a big fan of slotting lots of procs on a scrapper (although I will slot 1-2 in a power if I've already maxed out the damage). In order to make the procs effective you have to forego a lot of recharge and set bonuses. I find procs give more bang for the buck on ATs with lower damage scales.

ah ok, thanks for the help.

But I mean if this is the case, how do you get more damage for a scrapper? Just recharge and damage set bonuses?

  9. I'm pretty new here but just trying to understand, is it a good idea to use damage proc enhancements for scrapper abilities that have like a 13-17 second cooldown? or should you just use cooldown instead for the slot.

I found another big damage proc topic that got into how worth it is, saying that for lower cooldown abilities like 3-5 seconds, it's not worth it, but for

higher cooldown like 16-ish seconds it might be. But..global cooldown doesn't affect that, right. Cause say, on a katana scrapper, golden dragonfly's cooldown for me has gone down to 3-4 seconds after global cooldown. I'm unsure how hasten affects the damage proc also.

So where and how/if do I use damage proc enhancements for scrapper. Or say a katana scrapper. and how does ageless/hasten affect that, if that's clear. if I'm even asking this right lol. again sorry i'm new just wrapping my head around this a bit before spending alot of inf on stuff.

    thanks for the help

    1.  I'm sure you could.  I don't much like cones most of the time on scrappers but taking it would add to aoe.  Could switch ancillary for a snipe or another aoe.  Could sacrifice some set bonuses and add procs.  If on a team you don't even have to use DA.  It adds defense of course but isn't the highest dps attack.

    2.  Can skip using it on team and just do other three attacks.  Would need something else or use DA to fill small gaps.

It is mostly a theme build which is why I took the self rez.

what set bonuses would you sacrifice to add some damage. I know i just need to get my incarnate stuff up lol that'd probably help.

I do like the self rez just cause im a scrub

no prob. Just did ITF on since we were talking about it. Lots of fun. For sure room for different ancillary or travel if you’d like.

So I used this build and it's really amazing, the defense and stuff is just wild and I solo'd alot of things. Very fun build. I have a few questions:

    1) do you think it's possible to add more damage to this build? or is this just kind of what you expect from a katana scrapper. it's still solid damage, but I'm just unaware

of what I should be expecting. Like does this build stress more defense or is the damage what it should be for the most part

    2) How exactly do I use divine avalanche.. like I know you just use it, but does this build need for it to be used more than 2-3 times to get the full use out of it? I'm unclear on it.

Sorry for all the questions, just new to scrapper and all this and very much appreciate all the info. again, thanks for the build, super fun

I can share when I get home. It’s a Highlander type toon so some power choices cause of that, like no travel power.

Yeah that'd be great if you wouldn't mind, i'd appreciate it. Ive seen some build up divine avalanche, or completely ignore it, so im tryin to just get some examples.. i'd rather use it if i can help it right, it's supposedly pretty good. Im just new to scrappers though, and katana.

I hit 50 and have alpha t4. Tweaked build I previously posted. I’ll post final one I’m playing later if anyone cares. It’s pretty solid. Undecided if I’ll go barrier or the heal one.

Hey i'd like to see the final build lol, I need help with Katana/Willpower scrapper, what did you end up going with

  14. Hey guys, I'm just looking for ideas/builds on how to make an end game katana/willpower scrapper. Ive only played blaster and a dominator so I'm not really sure what an end game 50+ katana scrapper build looks like. My build isn't really finished but I am level 50. I'm all for ideas if you guys have katana/willpower builds that you like. I've got inf to spend but just wanted to look at a few builds first. thanks for the help.

Ok @Sky Silverwing. First at all your build was a good attempt to achieve Permadom and was ok. Looks like you are fan of Procs IO which is fun, but Dominators have a tight build always.

So im placing here 2 builds you can aim to. Both builds are permadom, and ranged defense softcap. Is my preference Primal over Psy because Illusion is high end demanding and Conserve Power gives you the advantage in long fights. However you chose Psy and thats why i gave you a second choice.

    Dominator (Illusion Control - Martial Assault) Psy.mbd 42.27 kB · 106 downloads Dominator (Illusion Control - Martial Assault).mbd 42.24 kB · 89 downloads

Hey, I am trying to look at these builds but everytime I open them in anything it's just jumbled and a really long notepad text file. Sorry I'm kinda new, is there any way I can view them properly? or do you guys use a certain program to view them. Thanks

  16. Hey guys, I'm a new player and my first character to reach 50 is a fire/ice/ice blaster, though I'm considering respecing the epic ice pool to fire

my questions really revolve around Fire/fire/fire blaster and how it would compare to just doing fire/ice/fire.

Is the fire secondary really that important if i'm gonna switch to fire epic pool? or like what's the advantages of fire secondary compared to ice.

I really like the ice patch and slow capabilities of /ice, but I don't want to miss out on stuff investing in a fire blaster without one of the better secondary sets. Is Fire/fire/fire better to invest in than fire/ice/fire? I mean i use the word 'better' but just if im trying to make one of the stronger blaster sets and invest in them long term, would i be better off just making a new fire/fire/fire blaster (I have a fire/fire blaster so far at like 24)

What would you guys suggest. thanks for the help
