  1. MMs shouldn't be gimped if they don't take pew pews.  I always thought it novel to play as the support for your own little personal group.  They attack, you support them.

As I mentioned, if I wanted to attack myself, there's 18 other ATs, and 12,000 other games to do that in!

Not sure, how can I check?

I believe it's under the P2W vendor, who lets you toggle them on or off.  Normally I turn off white and yellow, and only accept orange and purple.

It does seem cheesy to eat the merits without giving you the actual recipe.

Will you please go read the lore. The 5th Column came into existence in 1938. (Edit: Founded by Requiem, Arakhn, and someone else.) The Nictus have been on Earth since Cimerora. Likely even before then. The Council was a break off group from the 5th Column that usurped the 5th Column's place but did not eradicate them. The Council and the 5th Column are embroiled in a war of dominance against each other. The 5th Column has sleeper agents in the Council, because the Council includes a lot of former 5th Column troops in their numbers. The Council and the 5th Column have Nictus troops. The 5th Column is led by Reischmann. The Council is led by The Center. Neither the Reischmann or the Center are Nictus or Nictus-infused. Requiem and Arakhn are Nictus-infused, in different ways, and are trying to take over as leaders, but neither actually leads either faction. (Edit: Which is why you find Requiem in the process of taking the 5th Column from the Reischmann in that incarnate arc. He has finally grown powerful enough to defeat Reischmann and take back the 5th Column.)

The 5th Column was a little too close to Nazis, which is legally problematic in some countries where you want to do business.

  4. So while playing you get notification of event starts and stops.  This is fine, but I find myself wanting to see if there's, say, a Rikti or Zombie invasion in progress when I log in.  So, when logging in, automatically provide event channel notices of things in progress.

Alternatively, or in addition, a slash command to retrieve events in progress.

    TY for your consideration!

  5. Just curious, how does it penalize Masterminds?  They have to buy stealth from a pool like most other classes.

We just had some wonderful ambushes yesterday in those curiously large and apparently useless tunnels connecting between underground trains, with endless streams of a dozen or more of those guys who throw a Pris(sy) fit when they die.  Great fun.

this'd warrant a ticket to GM's for player conduct i think. esp because it leaves you all but powerless to deal with the mob groups you're handling. otherwise it'll mean you going petless till the boss fights or where it's the tp's not needed

I disagree.  This was a speed run, and largely orients around stealth speedsters TPing everyone to the boss, kill, move on to next mission.  Sure, fix the issue with pets not obeying Null the Gull, but it is not an infraction.

I have auto TP on and, with my many MMs, have never had problems in such missions.  As MMs are "plow the road" types, I usually just pointlessly fight a path along with others awaiting TP.  Sometimes it's even needed as the advance TP guy bites off more than he can chew.

As for why have auto TP on, with all its exciting unexpectedness, well, as Bill Murry said in Ground Hog Day, "It's new.  Anything new is good." 🤩

  7. I keep a stored email to myself (@globalhandle) and "reply all" to it to send myself money.  Saves on typing in the address and the possibility of making mistakes.  Stuff shouldn't send to non-existent addresses, disappearing to the edge of the world where here there be dragons, but with deliberate misspellings of popular names, god only knows who got a mysterious present otherwise 🙂

  8. Disinterested programmer here, I ran some experiments with a min and max and mid height character.  With the short characters, as you mouse-wheel zoom in to follow your character more closely, that text box moves up towards the top of the screen, though I could never reproduce it all the way at the top.  However, for all characters it is completely gone on full or almost full zoom in.  That seems like a feature of extreme zoom in, though, as it disappears with 7 footers, too, even though it never moves up as you zoom in.

Maybe you are at the magic height and zoom in level to get that placement.  This isn't to say there doesn't need to be a few tweeks to that algorithm 🙂

  9. My main is a Thugs/Traps mastermind.  By main, this is what I consider the biggest gun of my nearly 100 alts, Tier 4 (only one other is T4, so it's just one of those two by this definition!)

The one who I'd pull out if there was a Big Event.

I often take the old girl out for spins, even though there's nothing I need, the last tiny tweak I made over a year ago.  I don't pretend to have the bestest build ever, but it suffices to solo just about anything at +4/+8, except for the end fight in (old) ITF, and Reichsmann, though I can fight him to a standstill indefinitely in the "run away, run away!" mission =D

I've since seen strategies for both, but just getting to those moments is a long haul.  Maybe someday.

  10. After noob levels, I stop renewing 2x xp.  I've railed up to 50 and am closing in on 100 alts (maybe just 1/5 make it to 40s, tbh) but I like the climb, actually adventuring.

I saw someone who announced on chat they were back for the first time since shutdown, and where the hell did the AE building go?  Where to go for AE?  Really?  No running around, just ding ding ding 50, then what?  Incarnate?  Probably not, but if so, then what?

I think there's a joke game called Progress Quest or something, where all adventuring and dinging and new powers are all automatic.  Maybe something like that is more your style, if it's about a ding junkie.

Of that large menagerie, only two are Tier 4 Incarnate, my MM, and a claws/regen scrapper built (I thought) for DPS and not survivability, who can't out-DPS one giant monster's heal rate, or even a pylon, but for some reason can tank 4 or 5 of them.

  11. Ok, the heal portion in Mud Bath is not like the recovery portion, which adds to recovery rate.  Rather it heals you over time in pulses, but only when you take damage.

So when taking damage, you get heal pulses from Mud Bath, and that activates the proc from Regenerative Tissue, as well as just the healing bonus.

So I will  move it into Health and put Preventative Medicine absorb proc into it, as that doesn't kick in until you start taking damage anyway.  Testing, it works.

  12. So I put Regenerative Tissue (Adds 25% bonus to regeneration rate every 120s) in Health, it works fine.  I put it in Mud Baths (blaster secondary Earth Manipulation) and toggle it on, and...nothing.

Ooh, just tried it with Numina's, same issue.  Does not show up as a bonus for regeneration in Mud Bath toggled on, but works fine in Health.

Am I missing something?  I thought this kind of thing should work in toggles, not just always-on or clickies.

    arsonist where

This.  It's the big flaming red hair that does it!  Which disappears with the second power up*, unfortunately (though you do see it on zone change, as sometimes the L3 costume is not applied, but the power up itself is, if the effect symbols to the right of their name are to be believed.)

    * Seriously?  His Tier 3 upgrade has him squish that magnificent edifice under a do rag like the other two, instead of, oh, I don't know.  An actual little flame at the peak?

  14. I've been squeaking for bots with windup clockwork* since the Before Times, for both MMs and Lore.  So they'd have to do some balancing work to scale it up to 50 and appropriate for minions, big deal.

It's the coolest design of any creature since, well, ever.

    * Granted, why windup clockwork have electricity as their primary power, a feature of electronic robots, is unknown.  It's the most confused thing in this game since someone decided one of the two patron gods of magic would be a Grey, an old-school, Close Encounters, 1950s anal probe alien, who would be far more likely as the patriarch of science or technology, because that's their bag, baby!
