I forgot about those new endurance sets! Thank you for reminding me of those.
I was torn between Scream and Paralyzing Blast. I'll see what I can do with some slot changes.
Scorpion APP is definitely a comfort choice for me, I enjoy the set and forget nature of the set especially when I'm mostly just pugging it with a team. Power Sink in Mu Specifically was definitely appealing, but I am torn between the added functionality and the coziness of 3 more soft caps.
I'll have to play around with Psi and Mu and see if I can get numbers I like. I always find it difficult to gauge how much mitigation control power sets give.

Nothing revolutionary I'm afraid. I was just hoping to get an extra set of eyes on this Elec/Psi/Mace Dom!
I managed to eek out S/L/E/R Soft Caps and Perma Hasten/Dom without incarnate support so I'm fairly happy with that. I'm just new to slotting Doms, but they have quickly became one of my favorite classes with how powerful the control feels!
I leaned heavier into defenses and recharge over resistances. I'm not terribly thrilled about single slotting Tesla Cage, but I'm hoping between PermaDom and Psi's single target damage, I won't miss the proc nuke I generally go for. I do realize that running into Psi resist will definitely hurt my damage though.I've had trouble finding a common consensus on both Psychic Scream and Paralyzing Blast, so I opted for Scream since on paper the AoE hold seems skippable on Electric Control. I figured an AoE Blast would fit better since I could slot Bombardment for the Ranged Defense putting me nicely at soft cap.
There is probably something very obvious that I haven't considered, so any advice/criticism is greatly appreciated!

I slotted it with Absolute Amazment Ac/Rcrg (boosted I think), Fury of Glad -Res, and 4 damage procs. On my Dark/Savage dom, I added a 5th damage proc in place of the -RES from Fury of Glad.
My Dark/Savage dom just rips face compared to the Dark/Dark build i used:

HOD is also a pretty good proc-nuke at the moment. Since you're under permadom you don't really need to slot it for mez.
I posted my take on Dark/Dark a month or so ago, fwiw - maybe it gives you some ideas:
How's your survivability been without the soft caps? I read over your thread before posting since it was very close to what I was trying to achieve.
I'll admit I avoided the PBAoEs because I didn't want to get into melee at all. But considering how underwhelming Nightfall is, I will most likely switch it to HoD instead. Maybe see if I can fit Engulfing Darkness in there too since I'll be in range to use it anyway.

Thanks for sharing your build. Here is some feedback to consider:
First things first: as a Dark/Dark you've got two powersets that do -ToHit. -ToHit stacks with +Defense to determine your dodge chances, but (in most cases) only up to the soft cap of 45%. While there are some situations where going over the soft cap can be effective, you're making some steep sacrifices in this build to achieve the soft cap. Your S/L resist is very low and any punch that gets through is going to wallop you. In the end you'd probably be happier with an APP that provides a Resist armor.
RE: Hasten. Altho you successfully achieved permadom without out, by scanning over the build I don't see that it translated into more diversity. You've still got the basic CJ/Hover/Weave/Maneuvers formula. Dropping Maneuvers or Hover for Hasten would dramatically improve the build.
RE: specific powers
- Nightfall is a very very narrow cone. Most people skip it.
- Fearsome Stare: Most people slot this for -ToHit and ignore Terrify OR they x6 slot Superior Ascendancy of the Dom in order to get the +Damage proc to fire
- Possess: By not slotting the sixth slot of Coercive Persuasion here you're missing out on +5 Range defense, which is too big a bonus to justify skipping IMO
- Moonbeam: You want a second damage proc here, this power procs reliably and hits like a truck
- Fly: Some people take this for flavor. That's fine, just be aware that Fly is basically a powerpick spent on a costume option. You can fly just as easily with a vendor jetpack.
- Heart of Darkness: I don't recommend skipping this, it's just as strong as the stun Fire/Earth/Gravity get, only different in that it's a PBAoE.
After playing around with it more, I am noticing Nightfall is a bit underwhelming to say the least.
I originally had the 6 piece in Stare but I made some moves for some extra recharge, however if I dropped Nightfall the ATO would definitely go back in there and I would probably put Grav Anchor into Living shadows instead.
The changes to Possess and Moonbeam are easy eough especially if I take some of the slots out of Hover and drop Combat Jumping for Hasten. That gets me the two slots.
How would you slot Heart of Darkness? It looks pretty effective as a proc nuke like Brasilgringo said, so I'd probably default to that.
As for the resistances I would definitely need to play around a lot more with my build I think.
I'll see how Hasten affects me on the Test server. Having to rely on Cardiac or Ageless isn't ideal, but it may be worth it in the end.
Thank you for your insight! I'll definitely be using what I can!
-
I do enjoy the option to exemplar when I build and not having to rely on Hasten to get Domination going was really a bonus that came around from building this way.
However, I am a bit worried about my damage with this build. I'm sure it'll be alright, but I could definitely shove a lot of procs into Dark/Dark.

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to dip my feet into Dominator again and I would really appreciate my build getting a once over from people who know more than I do. I managed to soft-cap S/L/E and get PermaDom without Hasten. I didn't enjoy how Endurance hungry my other Dom was with Perma hasten. I felt like I was constantly out of Endurance, even with the Cardiac alpha. So I decided to try and forgo Hasten completely and I'm pretty satisfied with the results!
Also since I am going without Hasten, Ageless shouldn't feel as necessary for the build to function. Though I may be wrong! So any insight into Incarnate choices would be greatly appreciated as well!
Any criticism or insight would be greatly appeciated!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to put together a StJ/WP Brute and I'm not sure what to do. I'm pretty new to building, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Resurgence is a concept power more than anything, so I would like to keep it in the build. Other than that tear it apart! Thank you in advance.
If anyone would also provide something completely different build-wise, influence isn't a problem for me, so if anyone has some super build they want to post I'd like to see it.

Illusion / Traps Folder

Good morning everyone! I've been trying to put together a build for Illusion/Traps that maintains S/L/E/R softcaps and Perma PA without relying on Incarnates. While I know Agility and Spiritual can do a lot of heavy lifting towards the recharge cap, but if I can fit Musculature into my build instead, I always try.
I've got Phantom Army down to 59 seconds, but it had to make the sacrifice of not having Blind and Poison Trap as Proc Bombs.
This first build is with Musculature and minimal procs, but I'm curious if I would get more mileage out of a different Alpha and adding more Procs to my build instead. Basically I guess it boils down to whether I want my character to have a weaker personal damage and a stronger, permenant PA or stronger personal damage and slightly off perma PA (61.5 seconds vs the 59 second in the previous.)
Anyway, I was hoping to get some opinions on what might be the better choice, as well as just an overall opinion on my slotting.
Thanks in advance!
