So you get xp when you take out a confused enemy? But not using a confused enemy to take out his buddies, or am I missing something?

My apologies if this has been brought up before, my search-fu skills are still developing. I know in the original game Confusion gave no xp and that placed a stigma on the Mind Control powerset. Now I see Tactical Arrow and Arsenal both have confusion elements. I noticed you still receive 0 xp when a confused target takes down another if you don't do direct damage. But aren't you? I mean it IS your power that made all that happen afterall. Anyways, My questions is, will xp be on the table for confusion sometime or is this a lost cause since it's been so long and not been changed? Thanks for the future comments.
