Just one thing I'd really like some dev to add if they could: the ability to make a toon PARTIALLY stealthed or invisible, so that only some parts of them remain visible and are floating, dismebodied. The result being a toon that is just a floating head, or floating hands, or a floating weapon, or a pair of pants or boots that walk by themselves, etc. It would allow for good portrayal of an invisible person, ghost or poltergeist char concept, etc. Whether this is in the costume creator or a feature in Concealment pool powers, either way

    For true pie-in-the-sky dream, add an automatic weekly rebalance based on what content the playerbase is running as a whole. i.e. if 1 billion council mobs have been killed this week and only 1 million rularuu, rularuu rewards would increase.

     

    Rationale? This would give incentive to experience all the content. With some dynamic aspect to what content you're going to run on any particular day, too. The introduction of weekly TFs was IMHO the best feature of the game. To this day you can see it's a powerful motivator to get people to run that content, without harmstringing other activities either. So I would go further in that direction.

    Apply this to redside vs blueside content and it would incentivize people to play redside more, perhaps

  5. What do you think of an auxillary pool made up of ranged attacks with hand thrown/used weapons, plus a melee attack using said thrown weapon/s, an accuracy buff etc?

    The ranged attack powers could use an animation of hand-thrown weapons like javelin, war dart, shuriken, chakram, throwin axe, throwing daggers, boomerang, hurlbat, etc.

    Also some assisted weapon like blowpipe, slingshot, Y-shaped hand catapult, atlatl or spear-thrower, or crossbow or blackpowder flintlock pistol, arquebus, musket etc?

    Maybe hand thrown grenade or fuse-lit bomb, stick of dynamite etc?

     

    Basically it would cover various ranged weapon types besides bow and arrow, which don't warrant a full powerset on their own but otherwise are fine choices for a weapon power. Thoughts?

    They wouldn't, why would they? I've just found that either superspeed, flight or teleportation are essential for open world travel, but they don't suit most toon style ideas I've made, so some vehicular alternative would be really useful, IMO.

  8. Here's a suggestion I would love to be implemented: spear weapon option distinct from staff, with longer reach/range. It could be held with two hands like staff or with shield could be held vertically, overarm and underarm in different animations and used in combo with shield in historical fashion. Spear is an underrated weapon, here are some examples of how attacks and moves could be animated for use in game:

  9. As a returning player, I've logged in recently and each time I see the visible redside player pop is really sparse compared to Atlas Park etc for the blues. Is there a primetime period when the activity picks up during the week?

    If not, how would people feel about establishing one here on the forums, ie a time each week to encourage any red players to log in, ensuring high pop so we're guaranteed plenty of mission runs and a good chance to level quickly?

  10. You realize that this would take the homecoming team at least a year to do right? It's not like it is a few lines of code and BOOM NEW POWERS.

    So no I do not agree with you. I would rather they spend their time on various smaller features which can be implemented.

    On-topic, honestly? This would be a priority on my personal wish list, now as it was during the game's initial run. I'm still obviously appreciative for having the game back in it's current form, but I did say "wish" list.

  12. Agree with all these, and would like a proper Spear and Shield combo set please? With proper spear thrust animations etc as per Greek hoplites, African tribesmen, etc. Because no, a spear is not just a type of staff, and I don't think I've ever seen a computer game get it right except maybe Mount & Blade.

    Crossbow weapon option and flail for the same reason, please.

     

    On a related note, more weapon styles to represent different historical cultures would be greatly appreciated by me, so Aztec macuahuitl, NA tomahawks and gunstock clubs, Aboriginal boomerang, Greek discus and sling, Chinese flying guillotine, Japanese sai, European flail and holy water sprinkler (yes, that's a type of weapon), Roman gladiator trident and net, Indian flexible coiling sword, period muskets and arquebus, etc. You get the idea. Plus historical armour and costume pieces appropriate. PLEASE, take my money and give me all dat.

  13. "City of Heroes has stopped working..." This is the message I keep getting when I try to launch, and it dies.

    I've deleted game files from C drive and downloaded again from tequila twice. Still happens. Anyone help me out here, what am I doing wrong?

    How are you launching the game? Describe the process step by step, please.

    I run score.exe as administrator. I get the loading pop-up and the Statesman and co login screen with the right-hand side blank (no actual name or password entry boxes or buttons) and then nothing. That incomplete login screen sits there for ages doing nothing until I press windows to exit, and find the "city of heroes has stopped working..." pop-up has appeared. Both windows then close by themselves.
