  1. If you want to try bottles again, Here is the step by step process I used for bottles: For bottles: flatpak install bottles Open Bottles Create New Bottle Name it MidsReborn Leave it as application Switch the Runner to sys-wine-10.0 (if it does not show up in your terminal flatpak install wine, choose 24.08) Click Create After the Bottle is created Go to Settings, Switch the Windows Version to 11 Hit the Back Arrow to get back to the MidsReborn Bottle Screen Go to Dependencies: Click the Download Arrow on dotnetcoredesktop8 Click the Download Arrow on vcredist2022 Download the latest MRB zip file from midsreborn.com Extract it to ~/.var/app/com.userbottles.bottles/data/bottles/bottles/MidsReborn/drive_c/users/yourusername/AppData/Roaming/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn You will need to create the LoadedCamel and MidsReborn Folders In Bottles click Add Shorcuts Browse to ~/.var/app/com.userbottles.bottles/data/bottles/bottles/MidsReborn/drive_c/users/yourusername/AppData/Roaming/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn select MidsReborn.exe Click the Play Icon to launch MidsReborn It should launch and will probably need to update a few times. If it doesn't relaunch after an update just launch it again. If you want a launch option for mids in your main menu, click on the 3 dots and Add Desktop Entry. It may pop up a webpage with instructions on how to allow permission to do this. They are very straight forward. If you want to save build files into your Linux home directory you will need to install flatseal flatpak install flatseal Run it and in Bottles scroll down to Filesystems and either click the toggle next to All user files or the folder icon next to Other files and type in the path to where you want access. (for example I save all my build files to my dropbox which is at ~/Dropbox) If you already have bottles installed you can skip down to create a new bottle.
  2. As it currently stands the flatpak cannot update to 3.7.14.3. The in-app updater does nothing through wine. I do know how to manually install the 3.7.14.3 update, however doing this in the flatpak causes mids to permanently freeze upon opening. I have been exploring solutions to this issue but have not found one yet. If anyone needs help with setting up the system wine mids install or installing through bottles feel free to reach out to me.
  3. Download the Homecoming Launcher On Steam click on library>add Non-steam game to my library Browse: browsers typically download to Downloads in your Home directory. select hcinstall.exe Click add selected games to my library. Find hcinstall.exe on the list, right click, go to compatibility, click force use of specific Steam Play compatibility tool, select Proton 8 or 9 from the dropdown box. close the window Click on play for hcinstall.exe. Steam may take a moment to download the proton version you selected. It will run through the installer, you can leave it all as the defaults. when you see the launcher you can close it. right click on hcinstall.exe. click properties You can change the name in the topmost box of Shortcut to whatever you want (i.e. City of Heroes or Homecoming) this is the name you will see on your library list going forward. Click Browse next to the box for Target. Go to ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/(the folder with the most recent date)/pfx/drive_c/Games/Homecoming/bin/win64/launcher.exe click open (if you don't see .steam when the window first opens tap the gear for settings and select show hidden files, or ctrl+H if you have a keyboard) (~/btw stands for /Home/yourusername/) Highlight the beginning of target up until the word Homecoming, copy and paste that into Start In. Close the window and relaunch the game from Steam.
  4. It has to be the Windows .Net8 Desktop runtime. There are required files from it that are not part of the Linux .Net Runtime or SDK
  5. I have updated the Flatpak a few times since I initially made this thread. The most recent release (v0.6) now uses the MidsReborn 3.7.11.2 archive. Releases can be found at https://github.com/Krogoth2787/mids-flatpak/releases
  6. The Story Arc "The Council Cargo" from Angelo Vendetti in the level 10-14 Villain Flashback list exemplars the player to level 10 but sets the mission to level 12 forcing the player to fight +2/+3 enemies.
  7. I have created a Flatpak for running Mids on linux, It can be found at: https://github.com/Krogoth2787/mids-flatpak I have only testing it on PCs where I already had Mids running, but it should work on any Linux distro.
  8. The Toxic Defense numbers for Brute>Energy Aura>Energy Drain do not match between the enhancement effects popup and Power Details. The Power Details numbers are the ones that match the gained values in the combat attributes tracker. Below is a screenshot highlighting the discrepancy.
  9. In Mercy Island between [-2236.3 238.5 514.9] and [-2309.4 238.5 445.5] there is a section of the road that is sunken from the rest of the pathway.
  10. Well Poison: Poison Trap and Traps: Poison Trap are rather different powers. Poison's is a hold that works as a proc monster, Traps is a -regen power that can hold (and I think most people don't realize that the 10s duration listed in the power info in game is 10s per tick of the AoE that lasts for 30s) I can't really argue with Trip Mine getting a Cast Time reduction. And Time Bomb has always been the worst power in the set by a wide margin, I have always skipped it and probably will always skip it.
  11. In the same vein: Traps. - It can feel slow on fast moving teams, but as soon as something starts to slow the team down Traps will crack it. - The full suite of debuffs, status protection and defense buff. - An alpha strike absorber in Seeker Drones. - And its party trick: With high recharge in a drawn out fight it will put out more -resist than any other set.
  12. Tanker Spine Burst has a Radius of 10' while all other ATs have a radius of 15'. This appears to be an over correction of when the target limit was corrected in April 21st, 2020 .
