  1. I've seen a number of characters that have sheathed swords either on their back or at their waist. I remember seeing a post about it somewhere (probably reddit) but don't remember any details, and I can't find it here (which is on me).

Can I get a link, hint, headstart, something?

My newest surprise is my staff/bio scrapper. Whole lotta +damage goin on there with the staff form and bio's adaptation.

Try a brute.  With Perfection of Soul and Efficient Adaptation, your End never even budges. You can just go from group to group without pause, keeping that Fury up.

Regen on tanks would be a trap, not good.

<shout>IIRC, the main problem with Regen tanks was Alpha survivability.  With minimal def/res, they couldn't be given enough regen to survive the first big burst of damage, without giving them enough regen to trivialize everything else</shout>

  4. Every char I've logged in today now has this badge as the most recently awarded, with the login time as the award time.  No "Badge Earned" message on screen or in chat, unlike when earning Day Job badges.  Anyone know what's up?

  5. I splurged on p2w jet packs for some of my lower level chars for getting around First Ward, but that's the only place I've needed to do that.  The PI beacon drops you right in Portal Court if you have access to a base, and the Tunnel to Night Ward drops you right next to the Midnighter Mansion there, so you don't even have to navigate Steel Canyon to get Midnighter.  I have a level 2 (set aside to only play when me, my wife, and both our sons can play at the same time) who by the end of this month will have every blueside day job except Predator, Chronologist, and Cimeroran, which all have a hard level lock on them.

  6. Wife went to log in for the first time since July (after letting things update).  Get 2 errors from Tequila, that persist after a re-install:

1:  The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

2:  The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

    Ideas/suggestions?

A Katana/Nin scrapper would be super easy to play and bring plenty to the table on teams. Simple defense setup, good damage output, very little micromanagement.  95% damage mitigation plus a self heal, permahasten, and very manageable end use plus a couple of utility powers.

I'm only going to object to this because of my irrational dislike of clicky status protection.

And to amend what DSorrow said, Staff does have a combo mechanic other than the stances, in that 2 powers gain extra stats when you use them with 3 stacks of Perfection of Body/Mind/Soul.

-Go use the Tunnel in Atlas to visit Night Ward, enter mansion, get badge for access to Midnight Club

While I don't know for sure if you can do this at level 1, I've done it with a level 2 char.  There's nothing dangerous between the Tunnel drop and the mansion door, and no level gating on the badge.

The only snag is that this would change Homecoming from a non-profit to a for-profit, which I don't think they want to do -- see other replies from them above.  I think that the HC team is trying to avoid the whole microtransaction nonsense entirely.  It's a hassle they don't need, and they know it would turn off a lot of people.  So it's probably better just to avoid it entirely.

Just wanted to point out that this, in no way, would invalidate HC's putative non-profit status.  The Girl Scouts don't give away cookies and ask for donations; they sell cookies.  I know of a number of SciFi/Fantasy conventions that are are 501(c)(3) educational organizations; they still require a paid admission/membership to attend.  Non-profits are absolutely allowed to use "conventional" business activities to generate income, it's what they do with the money that's the real stickler.

It was just some of the super low starting missions, I couldn't begin to give names. But it seems like when we would click on one of our missions from the mission tab to put a marker on the HUD, even though we both have it, it seems like only one of us would get credit. I'll experiment more tomorrow though.

If it's the chain that starts with Matt Habashy and follows thru that story line, most of the finale missions can't be completed cooperatively, because they have divergent-story choices within the missions.

NCSoft and its representatives have a fiduciary duty to maximize profits for the company.

Just for the record, while widely believed, this is not true in either the US or Korea.  While the idea had been dominant in management theory since the 80s, there are no legal requirements to maximize shareholder return, and thare are legal precedents specifically refuting this requirement.

  12. So, my own (mostly) baseless speculation...

Back at the initial shutdown, there were several parties interested in buying CoH outright from NC.  Assuming you're willing to take any statements from NC at face value, they were turned down not because of the value of the offer, but because NC didn't believe they were actually capable of delivering an acceptable experience to the players.  Homecoming, however, *has clearly demonstrated* that they can deliver, so my belief is that the negotiations are for the outright purchase of the game. If so, then the "community involvement" part of the effort will probably be a crowdfunding campaign to raise the purchase funds.

  13. Talk to Null, switch to Villain.  Go to Grandville via the St. Martial exit, talk to Arbiter Rein. Choose Black Scorpion's faction.  Do his arc; when you get to the defeat all mission (3rd or 4th), auto-complete it.  Finish the arc, go back to Null and become a Hero again.  You earned a respec completing BS's arc, use it to get whichever patron pool you want.  Doesn't take long, and several of the missions can be semi-stealthed if you have the ability.

  14. Alignment missions is located on the red side of Pocket D on top of a truck.

Null the Gull can be done starting at level 20, when Tips will start dropping off defeated enemies. Tips have a dedicated tab in the Contact window.

Tips, which lead to Alignment missions, will start dropping after you train to level 20.  Null the Gull is located on top of the truck on the villain side of Pocket D, and can be accessed at level 1 to change alignment (as well set a number of other, somewhat esoteric, options)
