Does anyone know where that fashion show map is?  I'm just poking through the AE again and I was looking for that but didn't see it (nor the warehouse Rave map.)

They're both hiding under the "Unique Maps" group:

    • The fashion show is at: Unique Maps > Outdoor Maps > Atlas Park - Fashion Show
    • The warehouse rave is at: Unique Maps > Warehouse > Dance Rave

    Hope that helps!

Wait, Corruptor. I looked at Defender stats. 🤦‍♂️

The base for Corrs is a whopping 1.192s. So even at ED "caps", you're looking at like 2.4s, so yeah, even even-level critters will wake up briefly.

Aha, well that explains the behavior I'm seeing, at least. Well-spotted, thanks!

Though I'm still calling it bugged...I find it hard to believe that a fully-slotted power that's largely ineffective against +0 minions was the intent by design...

So, I think the deal here is that the effect pulses every 2.5 seconds, but the sleep lasts a (base) of 1.49s. Against +3 critters, that's cut to 65% of base, so about 1s, which means you're never going to be able to keep +3s asleep.

Oh, yeah...against +3s it's basically useless. Even against +2s it isn't pretty. But I put a full set of Call of the Sandman there to test and even +0 critters were exhibiting the behavior I mentioned above. I'm hoping that's a bug...

  4. I have a Dual Pistols/Trick Arrow Corruptor and I'm seeing what appears to be a problem with the Poison Gas Arrow power. I understand that the the sleep effect "pulses" every few seconds, but minions in the sleep field are waking up far more often than statistically probable. Even with a 95% chance to hit, most same-level minions will wake up after one or two ticks and move or attack, and then fall back asleep. It's almost like something is waking them all up, but even after removing all procs and Incarnate powers, the problem persists. And I've tried this with a variety of enemy groups, so it's not just that a particular group is resistant.

The net effect is that the sleep effect is almost useless because nobody stays asleep, and can still move and attack, albeit less often. If I attack at range, after a few tics most minions are able to take a few steps and move out of the sleep field entirely.

Even if the power makes a separate roll to hit every three seconds, every minion seems practically guaranteed to wake up within 3-5 tics, which doesn't track with the 95% hit chance. And then once they've "woken up" in this fashion, they seem to be awake more often than they're asleep.

  5. "Hey, boss. How come all the other supergroups have big beautiful bases, but we're working out of a tiny little cheap-ass garage in Kings Row?"

"Because when the bad guys inevitably attack the base and blow it up, it'll be a hell of a lot easier to replace than an expensive Batcave under stately Wayne manor."

Tight, functional, and charmingly lowbrow, this is superheroics done on the cheap. The one high-tech feature was to hide a teleporter in the globe in the leader's office for ease of access in his secret identity, and although he's not wild about having people in his office (especially that shifty-looking guy from Icon), at least they're not hanging out in the secret garage...

First just make sure you have unchecked the bubble at the top of the detail (on both the Ally boss and collectibles) that says ‘Required for Mission Completion.’ Problems like circular logic are ignored by AE when the details are not required for the mission to be completed. Bear in mind this means that if you are using multiple collectible object models (like weapon racks AND computers) as set dressing, you need to ensure every one has the bubble unchecked. You can tell what’s required and what’s not by the little star on the right side of the detail’s name bar (you want it to be gone).

If you’ve already done that, sorry to be redundant! But I just tested this now and everything seems to work as it did before. Only other fix I can offer is to ensure you are not spawning the Ally boss off one of the collectibles. AE wouldn’t allow two things spawning off each other like that. The Ally boss itself HAS to appear on the map somewhere, so if your mission can’t squeeze that in, then I recommend maybe trying to link all your glowies to become active after one non-required glowie is clicked because it’ll be hard to spot and hopefully ignored.

Anyway, hope something here helped! Good luck.

Yes, that's very helpful, thanks!  I've used the trick where the glowies trigger off of one non-required glowie, but I worry someone might click it and half the map starts blinking. 🙂  But I was unaware that things like the circular logic gets ignored for non-required objectives...that's great information!

    Collectibles

Collectibles are better known as glowies. Things you have to click. Glowies/collectibles are great because they can act as great triggers or even as set dressing. Say you want to make your mission take place in a military surplus warehouse, but no maps seem to match that setting. Take the “Military Weapon Rack” glowie, make it optional, set it to the maximum quantity the map will allow, and then make the collection become active off an objective that is impossible to complete (i.e. an ally boss). The glowies will never glow, and instead, they’ll just spawn in the map and make your bland warehouse look filled with guns! Apply this to any of the collectibles and you can come up with something really cool.

I like the idea of using collectibles as set dressing, but I'm having trouble finding an objective that is impossible to complete to be their trigger. Apparently you can no longer set them to trigger on the death of an ally boss, and it also seems to prevent circular logic. Any other suggestions on what would be good to use for this purpose?

Fly is already at the flight speed cap at all levels. There's nothing for the Jump Pack to buff. Try using it with Hover, or while Afterburner is running too.

Ahh, that would do it! Unfortunately I don't have Hover or Afterburner to readily test with, but that makes sense!

  9. I checked, and if you're flying and press the jump button while Jump Pack is toggled on, the animation changes to show the flames coming out of the pack, but there's no change to flight speed.

I recall in the old system this did buff flight speed while it was active (very handy for slow flyers), and the power description confirms there's supposed to be a +245.00% buff to flight speed.  Not seeing it, though!

  10. The Jump Pack temp power claims to include a boost to flight speed, but that part doesn't seem to be working. The jumps and such seem to work as normal, however.  The attached screen shot shows the combat attributes window with the power toggled, if that helps!

I petitioned it as a technical issue and CR Miss was apparently able to duplicate the issue.

  11. So... How did one get into these contests in the first place, seems like this would be a tunofun.

It was lots of fun! For I think three or four years starting in 2004, the company held a Halloween costume contest where you'd dress up as your character in real life, out in public somewhere. People submitted pics and then they'd post them on the web site. That first year among other prizes the winners got cameo appearances in the comic as well as permanent in-game titles that showed up above your character's name. (I don't know what the other winners' titles were, but since I won Most Daring, my title read "Costume Bohemian 2004")

I'd never even heard of the word cosplay at the time, but those contests were my gateway into lots of fun costuming stuff. A whole 'nother spinoff hobby I can thank CoH for!  ;D

  12. I know a buddy of mine won a costume contest and got one of his heroes into the comic in a cameo type bit but I only remember the one contest and I thought that was only a couple characters.

Yep, that's how I did it, too! One of the prizes for the winners of the 2004 Halloween costume contest was to appear in the comic. (I won Most Daring, but there were something like six categories, as I recall.) Good times!  :D
