  1. But I would still kick the ball

If a damage to knockback formula was put into place, I would assassin strike the ball just to see it go flying!

Also, if BRB is added, I suggest adding a co-op beach zone with npc's and vendors, but (normally) no mobs, just so everyone can enjoy the ball. Maybe during special events, have mobs show up trying to steal the ball :P

  2. I also recently used the lost cure during a dfb. That did not end well. Though I didn't realize how it would bork the mission, so it wasn't my intent.

That sounds unfortunately hilarious! Here you were thinking "Hey, quick way to get rid of Lost baddies!". In reality, it removes the target without flagging them as defeated, thus breaking the mission.

  3. I think a great fix would be have the limit stay the same, but have any characters in the sg with the same global handle only count as 1 towards said limit. If they do that, then it'd be nifty if they also added an option to join any sg you're part of with an alt. Possibly tie rank in sg to global handle.

  4. I'm a total jerk I admit. You have to be to play a villain after all.

My point was: Why are you caring what your fictional character looks like in game? Why are you trying to mimic what you look like IRL?

For some people, it's a matter of inclusivity. An example - My fiancé isn't that big into super heroes. She'll watch the Marvel movies, but that's as far as it goes. She recently saw an action figure at Target for Squirrel Girl and noted that Squirrel Girl was curvy like her. It made her happy that such a hero existed. That was important to her and her self confidence.

  5. So last night I rolled up a Dark/Ninjutsu Blaster that I plan on playing similarly to a stalker eventually (But with a ranged snipe!). What powers should I avoid with this? Any advice on power pool powers that might help?

  6. In D&D, you didn't solo a giant. you and your team of misfit murder hobos teamed up to fight the giant.

Not always.  My First Edition Cavalier would like to discuss the matter with you, at his home .... built of the bones of giants, dragons, and worse creatures.  That he killed.  Single-handedly.

(Okay, okay, the character was seriously OP and munchkin-y .... but I was fourteen years old when Unearthed Arcana came out, so that should not surprise you! :D )

Anything that came out of any editions unearthed arcana is at least a little broken, lol.

  7. I remember when I started with CoV and later got CoH and was disappointed that some of my costume options didn't exist, but excited about the new ones that did! If I remember correctly, the elf ears look used to be exclusively hero side, and that was the only other option for ears.

  8. The thing is, a lot of MMOs start from the assumption that everyone will be in teams/groups/parties, and then work from there.  The game never really adapts (or does so poorly) to larger or smaller numbers of players performing a particular quest.

For all of the MMOs that have come out of Asia, [...]

But the trend is true of more than just Asian MMOs.

Look at WoW Vanilla.  I started back then, with a Dwarf Hunter and his bear, Muffin.  I was in old Loch Modan when I hit level .. 12 or 22, I think.  And got a quest to go kill a laundry-list of tenty or so large Ogre/Cyclopes things, in their own valley to one side of that zone.  And .... they were all silver-frame Elites!  Every single last one of them!!  I could, just barely, take one SINGLE enemy down by myself.  Then run off to a secluded corner, and rest/eat/drink and feed Muffin.  I was, at my best, up to about one kill every 12 minutes.  (I quit when I found out that would be the pattern pretty much for the rest of the game at that point.  Came back after Wrath, when people I knew who still played said they'd done away with that nonsense.)

    And that's a Western MMO.

I'm going to say that's more a legacy from EQ, which early WOW emulated in some aspects. The original EQ was influenced heavily by D&D, more specifically 2nd edition. In D&D, you didn't solo a giant. you and your team of misfit murder hobos teamed up to fight the giant. Everquest followed this formula, though certain tactics emerged with time to allow solo'ing (Kiting, reverse kiting, etc...). Some things were able to be solo'd as they weren't Alpha monsters, some things needed teams to take down, and some things required lots of people to take down.

  9. For me, why CoX is better than Champions Online - Teamwork. In Champions Online, you could team up, but it was honestly a shadow of what teaming in CoX was. Everyone in Champions was built to solo content, and there wasn't many team support powers (certain auras in the magic set were it really). Players just didn't synergize with each other. In CoX, the Archtype system tells you exactly what to expect from your team mates. Need a healer? Grab and emp or kin defender. Need a tank? Find a tanker or a brute. Need DPS? Crowd Control? You know who to look for. You just didn't get that in Champions Online.

I will say though that the Champions costume creator was superior, and I would love it if that level of customization were eventually brought to CoX.

  10. I was browsing through the Wiki and I stumbled across these two signature heroes. Anyone remember them? I think they were supposed to be used as promotional heroes when the game was being cross-ported to Korea. They looked like hey had a pretty awesome look to them. I was wondering if any of the information for them is part of what the dev team has and if there's any plans to eventually use them?
