A friend of mine just told me about this.  Neither of us knew that the other played the game... in fact I so very rarely hear anyone talk about CoH which is a crying shame.

 

I remember playing it when I was a kid.  CoH wasn't my first MMORPG but it was by far one of my favorites if only for the sheer fun of running around in a super hero setting.  DCUO and Champions Online failed to fill the void the loss that CoH/CoV left.  In fact I think that CoH/CoV was one of the last sub-fee MMORPGs I actually played; otherwise it was stuff like Guild Wars where you just buy the game and bam that's it or freemium games where you could play everything but the grind left things a bit wanting.
