Do difficulty settings modify mission and story arc completion rewards?

I was under the impression that increasing difficulty increased mission complete rewards but I can't find a definitive answer anywhere.

Increasing difficulty should net you more XP and Inf upon completion, and more of both for each enemy defeated. At least, that's how I remember it working.
