Be Grateful for the Game

"Good morning everyone!

I wanted to address something I've been noticing a bit of - particularly in my very busy Q&A channel!

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who has been assisting in answering questions there, you guys are the real MVPs here!

Secondly, everyone on every team right now is a volunteer. I can appreciate criticism, we all have room for improvment, but you must understand that everyone on all the teams - Homecoming, Reddit, Ours here, heck - even efforts by SCORE and 4chan are all done by volunteers. None of us are paid, none of us have this as our jobs. We've all put time, effort, heartache and sweat into building this community, and we all do it out of love for this game!

I understand some of you may be frustrated when things may not be going perfectly, but I hope you can understand that insults and anger directed towards anyone on these teams serves no purpose - you aren't being angry at the employees of a company, but an unpaid volunteer who is putting in their time and effort on their own dime, solely so they can provide you with the community we all are a part of.

I am sincerely thankful for all the efforts from all the teams we keep up with here on the CoH Discord - from our astoundingly awesome Coders, all the way to even the fellows at 4chan trying their own server hardware, to Reddit's efforts, to even the Pathfiders on our team who are documentation wizards - all of them are awesome, and are doing this for free - which I think is really amazing.

I hope you all have a great morning/afternoon - depending on  your timezone! - and I look forward to seeing you guys ingame when the repairs are completed (not underway - I blame the lack of coffee before I wrote this.)"

 

I fully understand that your work is entirely voluntary and that you are all working your hardest to bring this game back because you enjoyed and missed the game just as much as the rest of us. For those of you in the gaming community who are throwing around insults and throwing internet temper tantrums I am disgusted by your behavior. If you educated yourself more about what is actually entailed in performing a venture like this you would not be acting so childish.  You all should be more appreciative of the efforts these great people are making and if you want to continue acting in that manner than you should not even play.
