Borders On Alphabet Letters

Did a search on the forum but nothing was found on this technique.

 

I've seen alphabet letters with a different colored outline used in a few bases I've visited but, I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

 

As far as I can tell, the letters in the Alphabet Tab only show the Primary Color and the Secondary Color has absolutely no affect on them. Is there something I'm missing here or is the an alternative alphabet resource that I don't know about?

I think, but am by no means sure, that it's a combination of color and lighting.

 

It would be master-class work, but you could also have two letters, one offset a hairline from the other. That would set an outside color on at least half the rim.
