I really like the crab spider. It's disgustingly end hungry and god help me there's just not enough global recharge in the world. It is probably the most high-maintance toon I've ever played. I'd like to try the bane, since it seems more efficient, but... it's like. My brain is mush? And I can't think of how to build them or what attraction they ACTUALLY hold outside of my unfounded assumption about them being less thirsty for resources. Any help or guidance would be nice!

If you want to steamroll most content you cannot beat a Crabbermind...

Having said that I don't enjoy playing them, too many things that need to be managed.

Banes are like defender/stalkers. Good AOE, good def buffing, decent -resists, good single target, plus you can sneak around like a stalker.

A great team asset, plus a good soloer. General not end hungry once built out. I can run barrier instead of ageless. Does not require massive recharge, but benefits well from it.

The downside is that they are good at many things, not oh my god good at anything.

And of course the ever annoying re-draw issues, which one day I hope the devs fix.

Here is an example build which is close to what I am running. Slotting varies because I am always tinkering.

Thanks KaizenSoze-Sensei. I figured it was something like a Stalker with ranged options, jsut looking at the powers. I did use my alt build on my crab to test out the mace stuff, but Im a picky eater and the redraw, while basically meaningless, does infuriate me, as does the crab pack being hard coded into the crab powers so even if you take one, on a totally different build, which isnt a problem I'd even say SHOULD be solved since I assume solving it would take more time than other, much more important fixes. But I digress. Thank you.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you didnt use the Mace powers from the patron set?

Short answer is that I did have enough power selections or slots to use it effectively.

Long answer is that I would only take Shatter Armor on a mace only Bane. I am not in love with Shatter as some people. It has a long recharge, 30 second, and requires either taking Mace Blast or Web Envelope which are IMO meh. I have a good attack chain w/o it. I used those powers and slots for durability.
