Tequila closes without starting the game

I've been having this issue since yesterday evening. I redownloaded tequila to see if that would help, but it didn't. It tries to download score.exe, then quits. I've unchecked the "close after starting" option but no dice.

i reinstalled to a folder on the root drive and it seems to be working now

 

will update if anything changes
