Hey all,

Wondered if anyone may be able to help on this one, I've recently come back to CoH and of course for pure nostalgia have recreated my old SS/Elec Brute, I'm not familiar enough with the IO's and sets again yet.

Been playing around with builds on Mids but I'm just not getting the same resistances/defence as some of the other builds I've spotted on here, I'm trying different things and spotting some tricks other people have created on their builds but I've just hit a bit of a wall on this one, would anyone be able to take a look and see what they can come up with?

Thanks!

I'd suggest posting your build, and discussing which resistance/defence/damage goals you have.

Personally I like to build off the 40% slow resistance you get via Lightning Reflexes to get that up to cap, and build for resistances and then add recharge as it helps to have your heal cycle faster along with maintaining  the end discount. More recharge helps you double stack rage and get more footsteps. Also helps you have more access to Powersink to restore your end after rage crashes and sap targets around you.

There's plenty of approaches to consider though.

Thanks Seraphim, appreciate those points.

So I'm looking to hit the resistance cap if possible, I'm not looking to tank or anything but want a survivable damage dealer, the idea of stacked rage and being able to use power sink a lot more is definitely appealing.

So my first build is attached, I think I'm probably missing a trick with some IO sets but the list of them is a bit of an overload for someone who only started up properly about 3 weeks ago!

Any tips or guidance would be a real help 🙂

Appreciate you taking the time to reply!

I'm at work now so I don't have access to mods, I'll try and set a reminder to check out the build later tonight after I get my one year old to sleep.

A decent trick to help you get your resistances to where you need if your not already doing it, rotating rune of power, barrier, and melee to boost your resistances.

Here's one to play around with a bit. Not saying its better, but just a different take on it, it still has a big hole to toxic damage (luckily that's fairly rare). But it has a few tools to boost that if you need it. It has enough recharge to have rage double stacked, and also that benefits power sink but also handclap which in itself is a big damage mitigation tool. I have soul mastery in here for gloom and darkest night (darkest night gives a ton of more mitigation, not just to you but also your whole team). Also its immune to slows .

Stat wise, it should be fine for general +4 content.

Here is a build that has worked well for me. It almost soft caps Melee (and does with Agility Alpha) and has capped resists on most damage. It leaves the Toxic hole but has over 50% on Psionic and Negative. You will have double Rage a lot of the time, a long stun time on Rage crash with Handclap, 20 second End replenish, and only a 4 second delay on Energize. The Winter set is expensive and the other Purples aren't cheap.  You get Fly as your travel power and you can activate Hover for precise flying control if needed. You also have 2 types of Invisibility; Stealth and Infiltration. Each will give you over 60 rating for nice sneaking and you can run them together for 85 rating. I took Infiltration as a mule but it also has really great movement speed and jumping while sneaking. Just shut off Stealth and haul yourself to the final boss/objective. I found it handy but your mileage may vary.
