Enemies in missions disappear

I'm doing the missions from Provost Marchand, specifically Save Alec Parson (and the one before that). The Arachnos enemies disappeared halfway through a fight in the first or second mob. After checking the rest of the map, all of the enemies were invisible, but could still attack.
