Brand Echh Posted February 4 Share Posted February 4 (edited) Hello! I'm looking to host a costume contest tomorrow, 2/4/2024, in Atlas Plaza at 3PM EST/12PM PST. The theme is celebrating Black Excellence, so show up and represent on your favorite Black/African hero or villain. I'd love to see a great turn out for this, and if it goes well, impromptu as it is, I will try to host another next weekend. Original characters and concepts please! Mimicking copyrighted characters is against the code of conduct. Thanks to generous donations from CoH Pride, The Wild Cards, Scions of Everlasting and Chaos United, we are giving away 1 BILLION INFLUENCE at tomorrow's costume contest! Some hate was to be expected, but we overcame it. 1st place: Voodoo Dawn 2nd place: Sango 3rd place: Stereoheart 4th place: Chainweaver 5th place: Doctor Voltronic Honorable mentions: Captain Ghana, Calignosity, Buffalo Souldier (Not pictured). It was a blast, and due to the reception, we are looking at hosting a SECOND CC with the same theme next weekend. I will pick a time that does not interfere in the Abyss Hami raid. Brand Echh Posted February 17 Author Share Posted February 17 I want to express so many thanks to CoH Pride, The Wild Cards, Scions of Everlasting, Chaos United, Club Kyabakura, @Crystal Dragon, @Tanklet and SO SO many others. They pooled together over TWO BILLION influence to help fund these two CCs and bring so much more unity to the community. There were people who HATED this idea, and even harassed me, OOC, on discord and ingame for suggesting it. So many came out of the woodwork to "debate me". There was no debate, because there was no discussion. I cannot express the proper amount of gratitude to everyone who showed up to participate and support this. On December 3rd, 1976, two days before "Smile Jamaica", a free concert organized to ease tensions between warring political groups, Bob Marley, his wife, and manager were wounded in an assault by unknown gunmen outside of Marley's home. Bob Marley went on to perform as scheduled, and when asked why, considering it had only been two days since he was attacked, he replied with this fantastic quote that I will end this thread on:"The people who are trying to make this world worse aren’t taking a day off.
