To Free An Agent (Story Based on Hero Alignmen Mission)

Recommended Posts

"Yet another hero has braved the dangers of the Rogue Islands, entering right into the lion's den, the usually fatal island of Grandville, to retrieve a man who had a change of heart," Amanda Vines reports, with stock pictures of Grandville filling the green screen behind her. She smiles and nods as she speaks. Her blue business suit is cut just perfectly low enough to give a hope of a view of her breasts, without actually showing anything.

"This is not unprecedented, and this reporter has her own ideas of this and missions like this. Before that, let us look at some video we were able to capture from Arachnos' security cameras, sent to us by an unnamed source ."

There is no sound, as you watch a man in what appears to be blue and gold medieval armor escorting an Arachnos agent through Grandville. His golden hair wisps from under the helm he wears, the sword in hand seems to shine with some kind of power.

Arachnos comes in force, throwing some very nasty super powered agents at him. He is downed to one knee on several occasions, yet he perseveres. Blood and deep bruises show on his face, even on the subpar video. His face is filled with grim determination. His armor and shield seem to deflect even the worst attacks, while he pushes back with the glowing sword, parrying and dodging. Just when it appears he is about to be downed, the man seems to let out a cry. Even without sound, it is evident that it is a rallying cry. He pushes on.
The Arachnos agent that he is freeing just watches. Maybe he is injured, maybe he is just too scared, but he does nothing to help, even going to his knees when he thinks the hero is done.

The video stops for a moment, then picks up what appears to be minutes later. The warrior limps heavy on his right leg, his sword now pointing down but ready if needed. The picture is further back than the others, as the hero and the agent climb onto a heavily guarded Longbow helicopter. Some shots are fired but the battle is obviously over, and the helicopter departs before more Arachnos could arrive. The video stops as the helicopter speeds away from the camera, low enough to disturb the waters beneath it.

"There  you have it. The video is a little disturbing, the violence heart stopping. Sadly we know this happens time to time, and we wanted to find out why we are sending men to invade a sovereign state for people who are not American citizens. I tried to speak to a representative of Longbow but they did not wish to speak on record. Off record, though, this reporter got some answers. Longbow was acting on its own, according to a United States representative, and did not have clearance to perform such a save. To, well, invade another country, my words, not theirs. Strangely enough the hero, as most call them, is an unknown. I could not find any data on him, but I assure my audience that I will," Amanda says looking into the camera with deep worry, as the video turns from Amanda Vines to the desk.

"We are sure you will," the handsome male reporter said, nodding with a serious look on his face. In a moment  the subject changes, as does the footage. All solemn worry vanish from the male reporter's face. A perfect smile shines and brightens the mood as he talks about the Paragon City Dog Show, and the cute fur balls that are just waiting to put on an exhibition.

King Lindor watched the report from an unknown warehouse that he and his people use when they are in Paragon City. He is not from this place, this time, or this time line. He and his advisors are unsure of the exacts of or how they ended up here.

The king was not pondering that now, instead he watched the video with a deep frown on his face.

"Let it go my king," Silas said, glancing at the thing they call a television and knowing Krist's looks.

Krist nodded and sighed. He was approached by Longbow to rescue the Arachnos agent. He could have sent anyone from his court, but he chose to do it himself. A king ruled by right, but a king set example by duty.

Krist was aware that the United States government would not claim responsibility. They could not. However, the agent of Arachnos had information that could save many lives, and it was imperative that he be brought in. It was a show of good faith, from one kingdom to another, as Krist saw it. This reporter did not see it that way, apparently.

"If we go back to the pocket I can tend to this better, " Silas said, speaking of the pocket dimension their castle and part of their landscape now resided in.

Krist just nodded. Silas was a good healer, but magic worked somewhat different here.

A portal appeared at Silas' command, and the two left the here, the now.

(Just inside info: Krist was a king of a land that was being destroyed. A spell was cast that transported the castle and some of the surrounding area to a pocket dimension. They had to find a way to support the castle and it's circling village, as their was not enough land to supply the court and it's people with food. They found a way to tap into a portal that connected them to Earth, to Paragon City. The United States government and some of it's institutes, like the FBI, CIA and of course Longbow, know of them.)
