I am not sure how they are tracking it.. but this site shows a 125% increase in city of heroes players. Its just interesting info.. ranked #39 out of over a hundred tracked MMOs

Well, it also claims between 4,000-6,000 active players through much of 2018. Even with the "secret server", that seems...unlikely. Haha.

Someone said the website uses some sort of combination of reddit data and other social media to determine its MMO popularity... which is obviously not accurate in terms of actual players, but does speak to the sustained popularity of CoH over time.
