Eliminate Kit'Vul bugged enemy

I was trying to get the Exterminator badge by doing the Eliminate Kit'Vul mission from Timothy Raymond, but every time I attacked Kit'Vul he would vanish into the walls (his target reticle would fade further and further away) and come back a minute later if I stayed near the same location. I'd hit him once and rinse repeat. This happened a few times until the mission failed.
