It's been a few years since I played - hoping for someone to take a look and let me know how this build stacks up. It seems fine in gameplay as long as I'm paying attention. I'd like to keep the soft-capped S/L/R defenses and pack as much recharge and HP as I can. Thanks in advance - I know some things have changed so I'm curious if this still stacks up as far as the build conventions go.

Reason you are getting no replies is probably because the data chunk errors in mids during import. You can drag and attach the mids saved build file.

Ah - Nemu! Thank you for the reply. My original build borrowed very heavily from your fire/elec build a few years back, so thank you for the intro! Here's where I ended up after some time in mids. I'm pretty happy with it but would greatly appreciate your input/thoughts. 

 

Something I noticed while putting this together... Havoc punch and thunderstrike are/have been changed to knockdown rather than knockback, so the knockback->knockdown IO isn't necessary for those anymore. I was going to change more things around but decided I wanted to play the blaster more than I wanted to mess around with further build optimization. I'm sure I will go back and tinker some more later. 

 

I have not been using shocking grasp much or at all, outside of hami raids when the need arises. I dumped the slots out of it (mostly) and put them into fire breath for exemplar'd TFs (ignore the power pick order, it's not what I ended up with on live) and content where I wanted more ranged AOE damage. This is probably not the correct choice but the build  has so much in the way of soft CC through power sink, force of thunder, and thunder strike that I found myself just not using it. I could definitely see dropping slots from charged brawl in favor of shocking grasp or switching back away from fire breath though.

Havoc punch is still knockback, the threshold on even con mobs is mag .64 for knockdowns and havoc is at .75.

 

What you have is perfectly fine, power selection wise it's definitely a toss up between more AoE or a procced ST hold. Breath and fireball is a potent 1-2 punch and I had iterations of my blaster with those powers.

 

I also never relied on Shocking grasp for the hold. It's the -recovery that I valued more in addition to the prospect of procsplosion when multiple procs trigger. Some mobs are immune to knockdown and cycling these -recovery powers is another way to keep them pacified.
