Questions About Changing My Email for My Homecoming Account

This Homecoming account is linked to a Gmail address that I’ve unfortunately neglected to keep active for some time. Worse, I can’t find the login password for that Gmail account, so I’m locked out.

 

Out of obvious necessity, I would like to change my email address on this Homecoming account ASAP. However, I looked at my forum account settings and saw that if I want to change my email I will need to “re-activate” the account. Can someone explain to me what’s involved in this process? Will it affect my game account as well (login info, Global handle, etc) in any way?

The new email will need to be revalidated by clicking the link the forum sends to the new email address, the old one is unimportant. If it doesn't send the verification email (it happens occasionally) DM me on Discord and I'll get it sorted for you.
