+COMMAND Commands Don't Macro Well

Apologies if this is a duplicate.

 

If, for example, +up is put onto a macro button (instead of a keybind), it will either not work, or perpetually trigger.

Similarly for +zoomin. (I believe @Shenanigunner referred to this as the "+COMMAND latching problem", and there was some further analysis here:

 

I suspect this will be a problem for many commands which take a "+" modifier.

Please let me know if there's a way get such commands to work well with a macro button.

My experience was almost exclusively with +up, IIRC. It appeared one sunny update a few years ago and has never been resolved.
