CU_Krow Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) Hi. First off devs, ty for the great work yall doing, and finishing KW! Long awaited dream fulfilled for CoH fans. :} I am on Everlasting, and tend to be a frequent guy who ran PI radio missions for casual team/map modes. Much fun, casual teaming, meeting new people, helping ppl reach lvl 50, socializing, etc. When KW was being developed, the idea of a new lvl 50 zone with repeatable missions like PI was very exciting for players and players like me! I ran both repeatable missions as red/blue, and here's some personal feedback not just from myself, but also many of the players who ran the missions with me: SOME OF THE KW MAPS ARE JUST TOO LONG. 1- All agree the mobs are challenging and fun to fight, no complaints there, but the maps are just too long. 2-This offers less time flexibility for people compared to PI, where missions can be run and completed in less than 15min. Some of the KW maps lasted much longer (e.g. the office maps for the Freaklok and skulls). 3-Exp was great, esp for lower level players, so it felt like a farm map, but others, it just felt too long and didnt offer the fast-paced jumping from mission to mission compared to PI. So while the mobs are great and fun to deal with. The map longevity is going to make it less exciting for us mission hoppers who to like to get a few maps in to kill time before moving to next thing. For now, PI might be more appealing for fast-n-go runs, which stinks, cause the new content in KW is much preferred for its newness, but the time commitment makes it a bit more difficult, esp for team oriented back-to-back missions. CU_Krow Posted July 14 Author Posted July 14 If I showed screenshot logs of other members in my team party giving feedback on the maps, would that help this suggestion any? I dont want to waste my time if not.
ThatGuyCDude Posted Saturday at 09:16 PM Posted Saturday at 09:16 PM I do rather like the corporate offices map that comes up frequently. That said, I think it would have better pacing if the first floor (with the lobby) and the second floor (with the two skywalks) were selected randomly as the entrance and only one of them was present on each 'radial' mission. Compared against the Astoria-style caves that also pop up from that contact, they do run a bit long... removing one floor from the picture would help make the pacing more consistent. In short, I agree!
