Techwright Posted Friday at 07:41 PM Posted Friday at 07:41 PM (edited) For decades I've built super-powered beings with phenomenal cosmic powers capable of leveling armies. So what did I do today? A Dogwalk. Just released, and currently sitting at Overwhelmingly Positive in player ratings, Dogwalk, by Blender Studio, is a well-crafted, whimsically-cheery, tragically-short free game on Steam. For about 15 minutes (5 of which were figuring out a few obscure mechanics), I got to play a woolly sheepdog dragging his beloved little human around a snowy countryside looking for objects to enhance the little human's snowman. The potential is there to both entertain and upset the human. When he gets downtrodden, several good slobbery doggie kisses soon have him laughing again. It is such a simple game, and over so quickly, yet I found it greatly brightened my day. Completing the game has the reward of some behind-the-scenes footage of the game being constructed. I will note I had one computer hiccup when starting the game. I simply closed the game, reopened, and everything was fine afterwards.
