If you slot any of the knockback to knockdown IOs (i.e. Sudden Acceleration or Overwhelming Force) do you need one of them in every pet power that can knockback or does 1 work for them all?  I'm thinking about the robots here since all 3 bot pets get the ability to knockback with their first upgrade power so I don't need the proc on Overwhelming Force but it would be nice if with all of them they aren't flinging mobs all over the place.

So the question is, do I need one for each pet or will one pet be enough for all of them?

Technically the proc only works for the power you put it in.

To me, in practice, really only Assault Bot needs the proc

What this team needs is more Defenders

Why only Assault Bot?  There are 5 others that get a 30% chance to do a knockback which means they are constantly sending stuff flying.

If you check the MAGNITUDE of those knock back effects, you'll see they're all under 1.0 except for the Assault Bot's Swarm Missiles ability.

Meaning they end up inflicting knockDOWN rather than knockBACK.

There was however a time in years gone by where this wasn't true and Robotics MMs really needed to take an AoE Immobilize power in order to prevent the stupid little dustbins from repeatedly punting foes out of their own burn patches.

So you are saying the magnitude has to be 1.0 or higher in order for them to actually be pushed away?  I will have to pay attention again because I'm pretty sure at level 6 the bots are knocking back the mobs, not knocking them down and that is a 0.5 magnitude.  They might not be knocked back as far as the swarm missiles do but I'm pretty sure they are still being knocked back.

Edit:  Ok, I was totally wrong in what I thought I had remembered seeing.  I never knew that under 1.0 magnitude was actually a knockdown and didn't push them anywhere.  Thank you for the clarification on that.  🙂

Edit2:  I'm stupid and should have just looked at the Wiki.  It clearly states on the knockback page that in order to be knocked back the magnitude has to be above 0.75.  So you were essentially right with saying 1.0.  Again, thanks for pointing out that they actually do knockdown due to the magnitude.
