I've tried to donate, but the goal seems to always be met. That's great, but I want to show my support. I'm sure it has something to do with the core agreement and not making a profit off running the game. Is there an alternative means to show my gratitude for the best version of an old favorite?

Not part of Homecoming, but:

  • Contribute to the wiki.  You can contribute by writing or editing articles.  There's a lot of outdated information on the wiki that could be brought up to date.  You can also donate to the wiki separately, if you really want to donate money.
  • Answer questions on the Help channel in-game, and/or the #new-players channel on the Homecoming Discord server.
  • Lead teams.  You have no idea how many people are wanting to play on a team but are averse to forming one themselves.
  • Spread the word wherever you have reach.  I run the City of Heroes feed on the Bluesky social media network.  You have no idea how many times the feed captures people wishing that City of Heroes was back, completely unaware of Homecoming or any of the other rogue servers.  It's been six and a half years, but there are still a lot of people unaware that City of Heroes is back.  So I and a couple of others spread the word.
  • Volunteer to become a closed beta tester, if you have time.  This will help new Homecoming pages be as polished as can be.  You can do so here.
  • Just playing the game helps Homecoming.
