Cannot move characters on roster screen

I can move them around, but when I log out and back in again, they're back they way they were before. How do I get their move to "stick"? This is a recent development, because I reorganized my whole roster of alts not that long ago.

Have you checked “remember me” on the login screen?  That is required to load the custom character order file, which is stored locally.  Which is another point, are you playing on a new/different computer than you used to?

Ooooh. I bet it's the Remember Me button.  It's unchecked. I'll try that.
