MDLittle Posted Wednesday at 07:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:56 PM Can you use the mechanics that function with Enflame from the Sorcery Power Pool be used with Detention Cell from Force Field? If a character is supposed to be able to control force fields, it's make sense that they're able to turn them on...AND off. It would make Detention Cell a more viable and tactical power, rather than the nuisance everyone seems to consider it to be. It would also maintain the original concept of it being enabled for only a select amount of time - if not terminated prematurely, it'll turn off automatically after 30 secs. Just an idea because I really do like Detention Cell...works great solo, though is absolutely despised on teams. 3
Psyonico Posted Wednesday at 08:14 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:14 PM I'd be for this if it's possible, however, I seem to remember seeing something about "the power makes the for intangible, therefore if it was a toggle, it would automatically turn off as soon as it affected an enemy". What this team needs is more Defenders

Well, I won't pretend to know how the coding goes...so I'm all for seeing this tested out. Perhaps, once Detention Cell is activated, it applies intangibility for the full 30 secs, but once Detention Cell is turned off - it cancels the intangibility (or something like that).

I've asked for this, the devs said it was left as-is because certain speed teams use it to phase one of Lord Recluse's towers in the MLTF and they couldn't stack the phase if it was a toggle, removing Detention Field's only actual use case. Since it's a power with precisely one use case, I'm ok with anything that sees Detention Field tweaked, fixed, or removed and replaced with something that doesn't suck. Or, I would be, if Forcefield wasn't saddled with Repulsion Field, which is the 3rd or 4th worst power in the entire game.
