Is there a way to permanently disable the color switch (sepia tone) when entering a flashback/Pillar of Flame mission?

Every time I enter one of these missions, and additionally, when the mission ends, the color switches - and this color-switch behavior coincides with the screen (not the window) shrinking to half of its previous size and the rest of the window displays as black (see image).
 
This behavior doesn't happen on any other activity in the game, just the flashback/pillar missions, which as far as I'm aware, is the only place that the color changes also - I'd like to disable this color change/'display area' shrink so that I can play the flashbacks without the frustration of having to deal with the shrink, which also flakes out the UI (the map is no longer displayed in its box, and some UI text also goes blank).
 
Action: I've attempted to prevent this from happening by changing the properties settings of the executable as shown (see images), it hasn't made any difference.
