oedipus_tex Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I was wondering what the developer's positions are on buffing some of the older powersets. They've done a great job introducing some new ATs and withpowerset proliferation. Have they commented on buffing existing sets? There are a few that stand out to me right away. Most don't need huge changes, just slight tweaks to make them competitive. I'm mainly thinking of Force Field and some of the low tier Control sets. Ice, Mind and Gravity Control all could use a look IMO. FWIW I'm actually a bit of a programmer and if the game's source code is available somewhere I'd love to dig into it.
SqtYork Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Back before the great pet nerf I had a Grav/FF controller. it's a massive support role, but also had some awesome fun things. Some odd duck things, like your force fields were great for everyone else. But yours sucked :P One of my favorite low level tricks was to teleport bad guys straight up into the air. Later on I would just throw them backward completely out of the fight and they would have to run back in to reengage. If you level's up your shift-phase you could make way too many bad guys not only be able to hit you, but also prevents the other members of the team from hitting them. Same for the single point ForceField that locks down one bad guy. You offensive weapons are just DoT roots and pushes. But the real power came with the pet. You had to wait the longest to get it. But the singularity was really a mini-me, and it repelled all melee's you tried to come thru it to hit me. And you could force field it, unlike yourself. Team member could go thru it. Before the nerf I could have up to 5 of these reverse blackholes bouncing mobs everywhere. Then it was just one. Still pretty good. Not sure where it is now. I am still waiting for the download to complete. I'll probably run another one just like it.
