Stuck on open gl error gate

Hello all,

I'm posting for a friend that is too shy to ask for help. They have a laptop with intel 3000 graphics and can get tequila installed correctly but when they hit play on homecoming, they get the dreaded open gl driver error. The work around fix on the support post for getting around the error has been tried multiple times again again. Has anyone gotten stuck and found a fix for it?

 

Or if the work around doesn't work are they out of luck. I wish I had more technical info and I may be more determined to get their game running then they are. If any info is need please let me know and I will do my best to provide. Thanks in advance!
