I checked your build out a bit, and just sent you a variant of an ice/ice tank via a message that I built for incarnate content that uses a high level of typed defense, moderate resistances, decent absorb, capped hp, and lets you play between cycling rebirth for more regen, melee for more res/regen, and demonic. You can use it as a basis and play with it how you want.

Any chance I could get a copy of that to look at?  Vanilla Frost will be forever in your debt!  Ice Ice baby!

  2. I've been having a blast playing my corruptor with the influx of new people and have made it to the mid 20's so far.  Now that I've gotten enough playtime to know that I'll probably want to take it all the way I'd like to get some experienced people to see if my thoughts on my build are decent or if some tweaks should be made.  What does the hive mind think?

Invuln/katana tanks can work well, I have one myself but the two sets don't necessarily have that much synergy between them sure you'll likely have lethal defense through the roof due to invincibility and divine avalanche but invincibility does affect positional defense, only typed.

That said Katana itself is very fluid and you can get a nice rotation going, but you build one of these more for theme than for min-maxing.

As I frequently say, if you take an attempt at a build, I'm willing to work with you on it based on your goals. I'll offer the same here as I'm more about teaching someone to fish then giving them a fish.

I appreciate the sentiment, but that's just not how my mind (and anxiety) works.  Just asking for help here is coming out of my comfort zone farther than I'm comfortable with.  Posting whatever terrible build I could cobble together for others to critique is over the line.   Thank you for the information; it'll make it a bit easier knowing that I don't have to worry about synergies.

Was just at the bottom of the page... 😆

I saw that.  Unfortunately there's no Invuln/Katana build there.  In fact, there's no Katana tank at all.  The problem is that I don't know the powersets enough to know if there are any good synergies I should take advantage of, I don't know if there are particular powers that are more useful, I don't know if any should be avoided.  That's why I asked for specific builds.

  5. Modifying an existing build is very different than creating one from scratch.

    Sets.

Absolute min/max isn't a concern, but I would like it to be effective as a tank.

No specific budget.   Money isn't really an issue.

  6. I've created a concept toon to play around with, but I've found that I'm absolutely terrible at coming up with builds.  I can tweak them for myself with no problems, but I hit a wall every time I try to start from scratch.   Does anybody have a build or three that I can use as a base to work off of?

For Four Star stuff I generally use my Invuln/MA or Invuln/Kat tanker, otherwise my SD/Elec and SA/Rad does well enough. I want to give my SR/Rad, Elec/Ice, and DA/SS a whirl and see how they fair as well (I've used them 1-2 star TFs to various effect on pugs).

Would you be willing to share your Invuln/Kat build?  I've had a concept running around in my head to make one, but I'm terrible at builds.

  8. I created a Dark/Ice tanker a while ago and never really optimized it, mostly because I'm not very good at it.  This is what I have so far.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The " What's the deal with level 49 farming anyway?" section of the first post lays out exactly what setting you need to use to make it work. As a fresh 50 you will usually want to farm on level 50 maps with xp on until you have your incarnates in order though.

That's what I figured, but it didn't explicitly state that.  The very next part makes it seem a bit ambiguous.

" It seems to be assumed that all farmers are going to be farming at +4x8. When you're just getting your build online that is 100% not the case."

As I have been wanting to play with Rad Melee anyway, I've constructed a Rad/Fire alt based on the build in the first thread. While I'm still leveling up, I'm already over 40 and headed on to 50. I am wondering, though, when I get there, how do I exemplar down to do these missions at 49 as the guide suggested if I am not on a team? Is it just a matter of picking a level 49 mission on the AE terminals?

I might be wrong on this, but it looks like the 49 exemplar only works if you run it at +4.  With a new 50 like mine running it at +1 I'm fighting at 50 and getting xp.
